    Default Leaked White Paper Details?

Apparently some details of the imminent white paper have been leaked to The Sun:

    https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/219573...d-bets-online/

Remains to be seen how much of this is accurate of course.

    Some of the headlines:

    • Under 25s will be banned from betting more than £2 per spin
    • Older punters could be allowed to stake up to £15 per spin
    • New legal tax to fund help for problem gamblers
    • Free bet bonus offers will be subject to “new controls”
    • A new watchdog will be created to mediate punter complaints

This is a great decision for all partners in the UK market. It seems that the UK market, considered by many to be tough after the regulatory changes, will again be a great market for partners.

We probably need to reserve judgment for a bit. It seems a little strange that any specific single tabloid would have been the only one to find some insider/minister willing to drop some of the detail in advance. For whatever reason/incentive that may have been!!

Sounds like age discrimination to me. I guess equal rights are only applicable as and when suits.

First two points will lead to an increase in offshore activity, I predict "stake more than £15 casinos" keywords/sites.

Agree. One is either an 'adult' or not.

Only recently I've sat through a long winded babble about how today's young-adults their brains are not as developed as they were, say, 20+ years ago. If that is what's coming out from psychological studies, then maybe time to raise the limit to what society deems the age of adulthood.

Restrictions for older people make sense, I think. At the expense of the 25 year olds, I have strong doubts ...

It's always interesting to see leaked details about upcoming projects, but it's important to remember that they may not be the final version. It's best to wait for official announcements before making any assumptions or decisions. In the meantime, let's continue to enjoy responsible gambling practices and prioritize the safety and well-being of ourselves and others
