    Default Link exchange on "partner-sites"-page. A no-go?

Iam almost finished with two more betting sites now, and was thinking about doing some link exchange. This is a area I have neglected much in the past, so almost all my sites does not have exchanged links with other gambling sites.
Reading a little about it, it seems like link exchange nowadays have a bad influcence on your ranking, according to the google guidelines.

What is your thought on this? I was thiking about making a specific "partner-sites/links" page for the link exchanges, and only exchange links with betting sites. Maybe add 2-4 links a week

    Hi Asim,

in my opinion even link exchanges on partner pages would not hurt but still help you. I also see some of the biggest (and I mean by far biggest German sports betting sites) continue doing exactly this. One shouldnt always listen to all the "seo pros" with their "link-phobia". As always you should look to only link to quality sites and as long as you do this, you are good to go.

Of course thats just my personal opinion.

Personally I wouldn't be using links pages these days. If you are looking to exchange links I'd be doing it more subtly - find people with high quality relevant sites (not filled with links) and deep link from internal pages where it will help for the user (so if you only have a little information about golf, linking out to a golf site is not only perfectly natural, but also helpful. That person could then link out from their netent page on a casino site to your netent site etc..).

I also wouldn't just chuck a bunch of reciprocal links on the home page either...

We are in the same boat after launching a new pokies site for Australians. It's a tough place to be but i guess you have to start somewhere.

I would not use partner-pages at this time .. there are so many options how you can get good link .. f.e. you could offer webmaster to provide good content and on return you will get a link to your website .. I always think of this sentence: "If you would explain all your seo methods to an employee of the search engine then you are doing everything right" if you wouln´t do this then I suggest to rethink your seo

My advice would be to pick your partner pages carefully and only link exchange with pages that are not full of links already. Maybe to have only 5-10 sites listed. If there are too many sites listed, the power (SEO wise) is very diluted and the impact will be close to zero for your website.

A better solution will be to try and make an article/guest post exchange with the webmasters. This is safer and better because is a contextual link

Thanks for the advice so far

Baldidoit looked at my new sites and gave me some really good input.
I wil start to focus on adding good content everyday on the sites, and do some SEO through social media pages (facebook, twitter etc).
Im still thiking about making a "link partners"/ "recommended sites" page and do some link exchange with maybe 8-10 sites in same niche.

The article/guest post exchange point is also very good. Im looking into this also. Thanks Harrisrando

if you do link exchange try to do it with quality f.e. use articles to post the links. it is definitely not the best idea to use partner or link pages ... only a few bad links could hurt your rankings
