Last minute query re. the awards tomorrow/tonight. I wasn't going but have received a late invite (thanks, Martyn!) and just now noticed the info states "extravagant black tie". From what I recall, 'black tie' normally means a tux for the guys (not sure if it means anything other than get tarted up for the ladies). I don't have anything with me smarter than black jeans and a black shirt so I possibly need to get a tux hired in the morning. Is this what I need or am I reading too much into the dress code? I mentioned 'black tie' to the concierge at the hotel and he thought I just needed to wear a black tie!
the one awards dinner i went to was also a black tie event, many guys wore tuxedos, most wore suits (including me). You'd certainly stand out a bit without a jacket and tie. The real question is whether you or the folks you're sitting with would care.

There is a moss bros just round the corner I think http://www.londontown.com/LondonInfo...oss_Bros/a173/ not sure if we did a deal with them but might be worth mentioning the awards and seeing if there is a discount..... Or if you think you will wear it again I would just buy one. I got mine there 5 yrs ago fro £110 including shirts, bow tie etc. and it costs around £55 to hire I think so much better value long term.... Or if you become a waiter!

Done the prereg and picked up a tux for the awards tonights. Let's hope I don't burn or rip a hole in it. Or vomit on it. Or fall over in it.
We're heading over around half seven from Grange Tower Bridge Hotel. If anyone wants to share a cab, let me know.

Antony at befred- bang on bloke, sound and always happy to chat
Ayelet at Titan bet/europartners - great manager that has gone out of her way to help and make are relationship work, although she tried to get me pissed lol
Karl bet365 - one of the most laid back fellas I've met but knows his stuff big time and great company
Sarah at betvictor - again good company who speaks honestly and openly
No one did my head in and was good to meet and talk to everyone but the above people went above and beyond

A great conference! It was a pleasure to meet a lot of you and put faces to the user names (never what you expect!).
From thrashing out great deals for promotions, to having a beer later in the night and barely talking about the industry at all - it was all a great experience!
Until 2013!
It was definitely an eye opener - much more boobs than I was expecting (although in hindsight I should have guessed). I think the most interesting part for myself was definitely meeting other folks in the industry.

Go to Piccadilly Circus and get the bus called "Original Tour". It's brilliant...you get a narrated tour and can get on and off at all the sights and make a day of it. ( The busses have heaters) Easily the best way to see London - then you see everything. Plus they have a 2-day ticket for the price of a one-day ticket through February.
