Default Massive loss of link juice from Seized domains..

I can't help but to try to find the "glass half full" in whats going on with the domain seizures that have occurred lately. I'm still in shock that that can happen to anyone.

I started thinking about the affects on the rankings of these casinos, and the affect it will have on webmasters.

It should help boast the ranking of many webmasters who face the USA, because the casinos that have invested so much time and money building authority sites with massive link juice have just lost it all. There's no re-directs, just plane out hijacking.

So those spots in the search engine results will now give way to smaller portal sites. This is bad for the casinos, but good for webmasters.

But, I'm sure that the new domain names will quickly rebound within 6 months or so. For now its a temporary re-distribution of link juice and SERP placement.

.. Or - the Kentucky case vastly increases the number of links pointing to the site which in the long run, will probably be kept under their control.

I actually think this may work out good for them in the long run - just a little hair pulling and legal expense in the meanwhile (in other words, I dont really envy them!)
