Its a good opportunity to let everyone know about this

A memorial for Gary the scuba guy is happening this Sunday ... I never ever ever saw them without a smile on their faces. Allan used to call me when he had too much to drink...

If I recall correctly. Ted, I credit to me becoming a full time affiliate, making the transition from weekend warrior, to playing around with websites my livelihood.

I look forward to seeing my friends again one day. I know they are happy together somewhere... Allan with a drink in his hand. And I know when that day comes he will smile and give me a big hug. That's who he was. That's who he is.

Earlier this week I had the sad duty of posting that Maria Florides passed away overnight on the morning of Tuesday, 22 November 2022.

Many folks have shared personal experiences of what a wonderful person Maria has been in that thread, which you can read here:

    Rest in Peace, Maria Florides

I have also updated the list at the beginning of this thread to include Maria.

    Rest in peace, Maria.

I am sad to report I learned yesterday that Adriaan Brink passed away this Thursday, April 20th. His family made the following post on his Facebook page www.facebook.com/bigbasher:

As those of you who know him well will agree, he lived his life to the fullest until the very end. The memories of his vivacious spirit, endless generosity and unbreakable courage will live on in all of us forever.

Michael Caselli has written a wonderful tribute to Adriaan which you can read here:

In loving memory of Adriaan Brink, the original industry legend

Below I quote the beginning of that article:

Last summer Adriaan told me that he had been thinking about this concept a lot: that the only thing you could really control in your life was your outlook on things. I found that to be one of the most profound thoughts anyone had ever shared with me, and I think it best sums up his philosophy – which is a valuable lesson that he bequeaths his friends and all that knew him. To embrace Adriaan’s philosophy, and live each day to its fullest, with exuberance, levity, joy and hope is his gift to us all.

That outlook gave Adriaan an enviable life that took him from sailing single-handedly across the ocean multiple times and accidental camel wrangling in Australia, to the slopes of the Alps and the beaches of Mauritius.

His vast interests outside of igaming ranged from Lamborghinis, to a blog on the best buffalo wing joints in Canada, to a personal blog at adriaan.com, which he bought in 1996 making it one of the oldest on the internet.

He was, of course, known as a true legend in the igaming industry. The original legend. He was one of the first, and one of the most active members of the igaming community.

His long career started with him helping develop and run the International Lottery in Liechtenstein Foundation/PLUS lotto, which in 1995 took the first online gaming transaction ever. Through the lottery Adriaan supported charitable causes both at home in Liechtenstein and internationally.
Today I've spent some time browsing through Adriaan's Personal Blog and reflecting on good times together.

    Default very touching...

I admire this tribute though I am not an US citizen.
I just realized that this is one of the greatest ways of how you can appreciate what you've had today... i mean, odd to speak as a foreigner in this context but i believe it's in the end all the same for us on the same planet in the same era.
i myself always take things for granted and not knowing what our lost ones have done for us etc
I appreciate this tribute. thank you
