Poker News Daily is reporting that Microgaming will block users from 13 US states from accessing their poker room, but not their sports book.

PND reports that an e-mail was sent to affiliates of Eurolinx that stated:

“This is not a new rule, just sudden enforcement of an old one Players can still play in the Sportsbook. Players can still register from the banned states, but will not be able to play in the Poker client or in the Casino. The IP blocking service Microgaming is using also has a proxy detector, so players will no longer be able to use a proxy to hide their IPs.”
Is it just me, or does it this action seem backwards? Internet poker is in a legal shady area when it comes to US bets (no one has ever been arrested in teh USfor running an Internet poker room), while running an Internet sports book is CLEARLY illegal.
