Default Microgaming finds themself in another rogue situation?

Here is a fine example on why 'Management Software" is for the online casino and not the player. They can make running changes to lower or higher a players winning percentage and payouts on popular slot and table games. Here is a direct quote from BetStone.com site.

    Direct link to Betstone.

Depending on the complexity required within any operation, BetStone has a variety of back office solutions available to our customers. These are easy to implement and include:

Back-office data management applications: These provides in-depth analysis of your machines and games across a comprehensive set of key performance indicators such as the amount wagered, profit and margin. This analysis provides valuable and indispensable insight into game play and player analysis on the floor and can be viewed through specific time periods configurable by the client. These reports can be run across portfolios of games within a single venue, or across multiple venues. Trendline analysis tools also tell you which games are the best performers on the floor, and you can make running changes to return-to-player percentages and other configurable data to totally optimize your revenue and profit.

Cashier Applications: BetStone has a number of cashier systems available that can be tailored to the specific requirements of the operator.
These systems can scale from a single machine to installations with thousands of machines. Note that all machines are also equipped with basic management functionality to ensure full financial control even in the absence of a cashier application.

In addition to this, BetStone is SAS Compliant enabling operators to seamlessly integrate BetStone's gaming machines into your legacy SAS-compliant systems. All software is provided in multiple languages, together with training, and 24-7 monitoring and support.
Don't be shocked that percentages can be changed.

Betstone make land-based kiosks licensing MG games. That's pretty standard practice for land based games I believe. There's a thread about this on Casinomeister if you want to follow the discussion:

In Vegas, the payout percentage varies from one machine to another, but the total payout percentage for the casino is set by the gaming law. Technicians from the gambling commission go out and check the machines to make sure they comply with regulations. Also, they investigate complaints.

Of course, as with anything, there are influences, and decisions, on the "best interests" of the....etc. are made all the time. And, there are crooks that come and go on the gambler, casino mgmt., and commission side. There are have been some very notable cases with all three segments of the gambling community.

Though Microgaming can adjust the odds at their whim, I guess that they won't go worse beyond what is stated in the gaming law concerning the payout odds and winning odds for the online casino players, in my opinion. After all, Microgaming has a reputation to take care of.
