    Default Millionaire Affiliates Closing

Received the following e-mail from Millionaire Affiliates today:

"It is with regret that we will be closing Millionaire Affiliates on the 30th November 2017. Commissions will still be paid for this month.

This has been an extremely difficult decision to make but unfortunately it has become clear that with the increases in UK taxes and new regulations that it is no longer commercially viable for us to continue. If you wish to speak to me individually about this you can reach me on matthew@winnersmedia.co.uk.

Thank you for supporting our brands."

This is one more example, how populist goverment and UKGC kill buisness.
But i am far away from idea that operators and affiliates, who have expirience in gambling buisness will leave this buisness.

In human history we have are lot of examples what happens if goverment forbid or setup to match regulation rules or increase taxes too high. In this case buisness go to shadow. This will happen in internet too. Probability: 101%.

I think there's also a factor that programs abuse this to shave or close. We've seen it with SkyBet and also here in the Lapalingo-discussion. When it's about cutting affiliate costs, it's usually packed with vague phrases about responsible gaming, laws, etc.

Yeh I agree with both posts, government grabbing too much tax is always an issue for businesses, we live in a heavily taxed world, governments always want to grab as much tax as they can, then plead poverty and austerity, it's a bit ridiculous. Government is basically the worst run business there could ever be - so much waste.

But, on the flip side, it's an easy win for brands who want to kill their affiliates. They use those affiliates to grow their business and when the growth rate slows they want to get rid of the ongoing payments, so they use something like this to do it. Basic shafting.

I'v heard this excuse many times and I'll never understand it... having affiliates it's always good for business !
