The Big Apple Competition<o></o>
<o></o>
The competition ended, and the lucky 5 affiliates and staff packed their bags and flew from various points around the world to the Big Apple – New York City.

Here are the amazing adventures we got up to while there!

Saturday1st November<o></o>
Arriving throughout the day on our first day in New York, the hotel was right in the centre of the action on Times Square. After checking in and freshening up, we had a nice relaxing dinner in Planet Hollywood. The food was great and the frozen cocktails were an even better way to relax after some of the very long flights to get there - Some had a very long 9 hours journey!

Sunday 2nd November<o></o>
Sunday morning started around 10am with a nice breakfast in Maxies. Did anyone know breakfast was served with potatoes!!??!
<o></o>
We then tackled the subway and headed downtown to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Boat Tour. This was amazing to see up close, despite the bitter cold wind blasting us on the boat back to mainland!
<o></o>
Rather than get straight back on the Subway we thought we would take a walk up Broadway and Wall Street to visit Ground Zero – the site of the World Trade Towers. On the way back we were amazed by the dancing and acrobatics of the New York Street Tumblers. These guys were amazing and really knew how to wow the crowds!
<o></o>
Some of the affiliates decided shopping was a better way to see New York so headed off to spend their hard earned commission. The rest of us got back on the subway and headed to the Empire State Building. Up on the 86th Floor the views were outstanding showing the night time views over New York.
<o></o>
This gave us just a small time to get ready for dinner and entertainment at the Blue Smoke Jazz Bar. This was a very nice buffet dinner, with Jazz entertainment. This was followed by drinks in a gay night bar. This provided us with the best entertainment of the whole trip with the gay dancers and the drag queens!

Monday 3rd November <o></o>
Monday started with a breakfast in a very American diner, close to the hotel. We then all went our separate ways for shopping, sightseeing and some of us resting after the Sunday night drinks!
<o></o>
We then all settled at dinner in Little Italy for the final dinner before the affiliates headed back home.

Tuesday 4th November<o></o>

For most, Tuesday morning was their last time in New York. For those who decided to stay on an extra couple of days, Tuesday was also another fantastic day. There was more shopping, sightseeing and also Ice skating in Central Park. We also had an afternoon helicopter ride over New York to view the sights from the sky.
<o></o>
Tuesday night was America’s election night. This was one event which was great to be part of. There were giant screen elected in Times Square and everywhere they could display the election they could. Everyone was excited and the atmosphere was electric!

Wednesday 5th November <o></o>
Wednesday was the final day for the remaining staff and affiliates and as the final people made their way to the airport, the final two affiliate managers left in New York took time for a final bit of shopping, to catch up on some work, and then take the final night to watch an NBA game at Madison Square Gardens.
<o></o>
We would like to thank the affiliates for joining us on this trip and make this one to remember.
