Arrow Multi-National Online Gaming Marketplace Demographics

As we all know, the online gaming marketplace is a marketplace in transition. Increasingly, successful operators and portal sites have a strong multi-national focus. At Casino City, we've performed extensive research on overall marketplace trends and geographic focus for both operators and portal sites.

I'm going to be presenting detailed information on the current importance of various markets based on our research on actual web traffic from thousands of online gaming sites. The markets I'll examine include continental areas, specific countries, and markets sharing a common language. And I'll compare and contrast marketplace information for gaming operators with information for portal sites.

I have graphs and pie charts to show what marketplaces are rising and falling, and to show what marketplaces are currently underserved by portal sites. As a teaser for the presentation, please see the slide below:

I hope to see you in Montreal for the presentation, but I'll also post some of the information presented on the GPWA website for those who are unable to make the conference.

An interesting set of stats Michael. Europe is gaining pace all the time as new markets open up. I'm also not surprised to see some growth in the South American markets. I think there's a lot of scope for affiliates in S. America over the coming years.

Your talk actually was one of the most interesting to me from the agenda, along with hearing Rosalind Gardner's talk.

So, not to spoil too much of the surprise or anything... but do you have similar data dating back into 2006? I wonder how big that light blue was and how much of the pie has been eaten.

This figures are very interesting. They show that significant shifting is going on in the market, especially in favour of Europe. I won't be in Montreal. Michael, will it be possible to get a link to your presentation?

Sorry, I don't have this particular data going that far back. It is, however, pretty easy to show that the US market share was more well more than 50% prior to the passage of the UIGEA.

Yes, I plan to make the complete set of slides available afterwards. But the slides don't include what I will say - just what I will show.

Excellent research, that really does put the whole picture in perspective. It is very sad to see the North American chunk getting smaller and smaller. <sigh>
