He vetoed a bill that would have made New Jersey the first state to regulate Internet gambling last year, saying he couldn't sign it because the Justice Department said that it wasn't legal and that the New Jersey Constitution states that all gambling has to take place in Atlantic City. Well, the Justice Department backtracked in December, and there's a new bill making its way through that defines Internet gambling as taking place at the servers, which will be placed in Atlantic City. He seemed satisfied with this and signaled that he could sign that legislation.
Well, it seems that plan may now be changing, at least according to a recent e-mail by the sponsor of the legislation, Ray Lesniak, published in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
