Default Name Dropping and Bragging Rights...

OK something rather surreal happened to me last night, and it wasnt even a dream!

I went to a friends 20th wedding anniversary last night and I was bowled over by the number of what you still might call celeb's (to a certain degree).
The guy who's anniversary it was works for the BBC in the UK and as a result has some contacts that he gets to come to his parties. Some of these may not mean much to people of a certain age (below 30) or people accros the pond but...to drop some names...

    R2D2 aka. Kenny Baker

    Comedian Jimmy Cricket!

The guy who played the cornet in the theme tune for corronation street (UK soap)

Buzz Hawkins - he did the voices in the radio series 'The Bradshaws'

    UK Broadcaster Fred Fielder

And a bunch of other guys who I am sure were famous before my time.

Another party I went to years ago, was a friends 30th and the wife and I were babysitting for them. Who was there? Only Danni Minogue!! I had sweet dreams that night! :inlove:

So, the point is who have been to parties with in the past?

N.B. This thread is purely for bragging rights.

I used to go drinking on a regular basis with John Hurt.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hurt

Am also friends with quite a lot of tv and radio people from my previous job in media. I once Dj'd with Boy George, went out for a drink with Jordan, flew to Australia with Tony Blackburn for 2 weeks, and quite a few others. Oh, been drinking with Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp (my best friend used to live with them bitd).

It was fun, but I'm too old for all that these days...

You sure come up with some great topics martyn

I cant say Ive had the pleasure of parting with any personally, but have seen steven tyler (Aerosmith, lives a town away) at one of our local fairs, which he has been going on opening day for years.

One of my doctors (deceased Grandfathers close friend) son David Chockachi, Cody on BayWatch, meet him at my aunts house, he is such a hunk.
Lil secret, his last name for real is Alchockachi

    Fun topic!

I grew up in a resort area and the stars flock there. I used to waitress in the younger day and served to name a few:

    Harry Reasoner - sweetie!
    Lady Bird Johnson - elegant
Rue McClanahan - sweetie and actress - corrected my pronounciation of fusilli (pasta)
Richard Dryfus - either he made an error or he's a bad tipper.
    James Taylor - pleasant

There are too many to name. My fave party time was a backyard private party where they threw down a couple of pallets and Jimmy Buffet sang to us.
I also remember raiding a very well know news reporters liquor cabinet with his daughter when he was away. Not naming any names!

Of course stemat knows my all time fave rocker is Steve Tyler but I havn't met him. Lucky ste!

good thread Martyn, i suppose only people from UK will know this person but my cousin recently married Matthew Crompton,

He played PC Sam Harker in the Bill

    Adam in Heartbeat

(cant find a picture of him in heartbeat)

and is currently Dan Mason in Coronation street, although I hear he is being written out for a while but with room to return.

When i first met him i didnt know he was an actor and i have to say he is the nicest guy i could wish to be married to my cousin.... a really great guy... unfortunately they decided to have a really low key wedding which i was quite dispointed in... I wanted to meet everyone from corrie

heheheh it was lovely though to be honest
