Ok since you saw both, on a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate Falarssana compared to Hyams? Cause to me this looks very average:

    THAT is a **** photo.

Photos don't do it justice. I've actually been there and I'm telling you it was beautiful. The first photo I posted was in falasarna. It has exactly what you're asking for in terms of water colour. You just seem to find the crappiest photo and post it.

You can't compare any beach to Aussie beaches. We have the best beaches in the world. Hyams beach shits all over any beach I've ever seen. If Hyams is a 10, every other beach in the world is a -50.

But you asked about GREECE. Not Oz. And in GREECE, Falasarna is the best beach I saw.

Guys, if you want the most beautiful water color, make a google search of Paxoi island
I will highly recommend it as it is a paradise there

Ionnis Paxoi is definitely more like what I'm seeking. Also how is Lefkada?

Lefkada beaches are very beautiful as well. You can go to Lefkada from Athens by car as there is a small bridge that is connected the island. It will save you time and money this option in comparison to Paxoi

And since many here are based around Malta, which isn't too far away, perhaps some of you have insights about this and the best beaches to target.

The only way to reach Navagio aka Shipwreck is by a boat or ship excursion. Or to jump with a parachute right above it
There's an allowed distance where you can park your boat, so I'm sure you can't do crazy activities near and especially on Navagio beach. And except shipwreck to take a photo by, there's nothing special going on. A lot of tourists, taking selfies and making their after-holiday future profile pictures. The beach itself looks gorgeous, especially that unreal sea colour. Water is kinda cold. But you can swim near stone-walls or maybe even climb on them
Zakynthos is really amazing island, you should go there. All it's beaches are very special and beautiful, the prettiest one are hidden and you'll need a car for many of them. Caretta Island Beach is very nice and joyable and if you're in Laganas it's near.
As Renee said, don't go in any other place than Laganas. Okay, there's a lot of crazy kids, especially Brits, but well, it's party island

I was there in 2012. and it's definitely one of my best trips ever!! Envy you for going there If you need any more tip, I'll gladly share.

I adore Greece and usually go there for summer holiday. Their spirit is so amazing, nightlife, temperament, beaches, clubs, FOOD, souvenirs, houses..
Lefkada (and there's adorable Parga just across) and Skiathos are also amazingly beautiful islands. Thassos is a bit quiet and more for families, but beaches are also pretty (type Marble beach in search, for example or Golden Beach - for various water and air sports).

Greeks are so lucky to have such incredible country! Wish you a wonderful holiday, let us know what place and beaches you've chosen

Is that Paxos you're talking about? Looking like a cute seaside village?
    Paxos and Antipaxos are adorable!

If you already like what you saw in the pics and they meet your expectations, maybe the best is to go to Lefkada and Paxos and Antipaxos are not far away. Combining these 3 you will get unforgettably nice beaches all the time

Thanks I'll look into those beaches. How far are they from Crete and are there any sightseeing activities there?

For anyone with a small kid that looks for a calm family vacation in Greece a good option is Ammouliani.

I was there for a holiday when my kid was 1 year old, it's quiet, peaceful, calm, nice beach, clean sand and sea, very suitable for small children.
