Neteller does it again

Skrill was ok, until it was bought by Neteller. I had a skrill account in dollar. After the buying, my debit card was cancelled with no previous notice, I just figure out when I was travelling, and now I can not transfert dollar to my bank account, Skrill convert them in Euro charging me 3.99 % to do it, then i have to convert it back to USD and loss another 2-3 %. So at the end of the year I loss several thousand USD because of that.

Bitcoins account is risky because of the BTC fluctuation. In my case i don't have problem of tax, so i am just looking for a system that can receive money from affiliate payment and can be send to my bank account without paying huge amount in comission.

Tip for all full time affiliates making big $. Move to the tropic for a leat 6 month per year, life is better and cheaper. A lot of tropical country (Bahamas, Cayman, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama ..... ) have specific visa program where you dont pay taxe on your foreign income...

Bitcoin is fluctuating, but from the time affiliates started to pay, always up. If you do not have a tax problem you can always fix the rate at BTC/USD exchange, or am I wrong?

My experience with tropical area is that life is often not better and cheaper. It is impossible to compare.

I have live in several tropical country for 30 years and it is way better and cheaper than european country. There is a lot of place with No Tax, no pollution, no traffic, beach and sun all year, cheaper (except French and English colony), huge home... when my european friends come to visit me they dont want to go home... Also you only need to be there for 6 month, so I you make big $ and pay big tax it is certainly worth to spend 6 winter months in the tropic

I live there and I do not agree. Yes it is tax free. Yes, the Europeans love it, but they are there just for vacation. I have written something about it on this forum, so I will not repeat myself. Buut pollution and traffic (and generally ignorance to anything alive) in South America is extreme.

Just one example: I paid for ******* roof 50K Eur to be something else than **** that 1st bigger wind would blow off. And it took 3 months, 6 black guys lived in my house all the time screaming nonsense, I had to hire 7th guy who will observe them and in the end I was observing them all. And I was told that this was cheap for Brazil. I was now in Macedonia and I showed the pictures of house there and I was told I would have whole house there for the money.

"Tropical" is maybe to broad term. Most of tropical areas are really hard.

Yes there is a lot of diveristy in the tropic, that why you should take the time to choose carefully, but there is a lot of very nice place to live. Take for instance Costa Rica, The Riviera Maya, Panama ... There have private resort that are very nice place to live and at very affordable price. Also i speak for people making big $. If you pay 20 000 in tax it will not be worth it, but if you make several hundred 000 in affiliates comission, it will certainly be worth it.

You wrote tropic, but you meant just few Carribean countries. There are billions of people living in tropics.

The money you're saving on tax payments, you're paying for education for your kids, security, health care, etc. That's fine if it's the place where you want to live, but if it's just for the tax, maybe another option would do better.

I always should look first of all for a place where you want to live and then look after the tax things with keeping in mind the bigger picture.

Most tropical areas are good for the only reason: they are very challenging and it is a constant training of the brain. In South America there are governments that do not work and semi-failed states, so it is a constant seeking for other ways. Most tropical areas are far from the tourist destinations you know from travel catalogs or clips on MTV.

Also one feels all the time what the relativity is. Also it is good for meditations how fragile human or other life is. The Jesus in Rio is not just a dull symbol. If you believe in god, you can feel it there much more. As there is some local joke..something like... Jesus welcomes you with his open arms, but there is a dagger hidden under his robe.

Sorry for asking and i know its off topic - but what are all these other posts on the site in aid of (tv77) ? - Is it just someone spamming or something more cynical? They have been appearing for a few days, surely it's just a question of blocking the user? For some reason or the other - annoys the **** out of me!

I must say also the climate in some countries is really a plus, or the food, the nightlife, etc. But living there is indeed completely another thing than being there a tourist for two weeks.

Also another thing than sitting in a bunker in Belize because you pay 0% tax there.

Well even the tropical climate differs. Caribbean is mild tropical, but Brazilian down to Rio is extremely humid and I read something like that about Asian tropics as well.

Only 35 Celsius with high humidity is much worse than 45 dry at least for me. So whole country is with chronic respiratory diseases from living with permanently maxed A/C during "summertime". Ironically because it is hot there, nobody gives a **** about house isolation. Walls are thick 10 cm, because there is just one row of standing bricks. Windows with isolation or 2 or 3 layers of glass impossible to get. This means that in summertime it is very hot inside; but even worse, in winter it is cold inside too, because even when it is pleasant like 19-27 Celsius day/14-18 Celsius night. So again: you have to heat it with A/C even in the weather that is just perfect. In normal countries, where people normally work and think, a lot of those things would be resolved with just a bit advanced construction of houses.

But not there. They still build even now houses like in middle ages.

Yes, it is possible to spend millions and crazy amount of time for a normal design house, that will cost you 10x less in Germany and even less in Eastern Europe. It seems I will be going this way, but telling that "tropic" is cheap truly is not true. Especially not if one is used to European quality of living.

Either way doing outdoor activities in the humid tropical weather is really hard. I can walk 30K steps in Europe without problems, but in Brazil I am dead after 10K and I can walk only during twilight or night.

But the idea to get to 0 tax country for 6 months indeed makes sense. It is possible to be even less than 6 months if you move constantly and you can proof that the core home is there.

Costa Rica is extremely expensive, it-s actually double the price of the Costas in Spain.. then you have the added effect of living behind walls barbed wire and armed security guards.. and the threat of always been robbed or ripped off... sure the beach areas are much safer and have less crime but running a full time online business you need to be well connected.

If you are making big $ and don't want to pay tax then it's pretty simple... invest it and grow what you have, no reason to horde your money in a cave until a rainy day, there art plenty of ways to cut back on tax without having to go 3rd world

Funny story. Right now a guy who does things for me in Brazil brought my car to yearly check. I must pay him, the fees and the bribes, because they will always find some problem, so bribes are a norm. He was stopped by police and they told him that his drivers licence is invalid, because he was driving in 2012 drunk. Car was seized and later released after he bribed them with all money he has. The plot is that this guy is an abstinent. Now he has somehow to prove he did not drive drunk.

Daily stories like those are priceless.

It also depends on a bit on what you exactly compare, but yes, Costa Rica is expensive, also like a premium villa in a secure area in for example Lima is very expensive. Also, taxi drivers, restaurant holders, vendors at the market, etc don't know if you're a tourist or living there, so you will always pay more. Premium education, healthcare etc, were all available, but at a price. While a house in a 'barrio' is not even 2.500 dollar.

With big $ you can also open up an office somewhere. The more you make, the more options you have to pay less tax.

If you read their TOS, you will see that you can not just use an ATM in any other country than your own. I had the same. But it was me who was silly not to read the TOS... Don't use your neteller card abroad WITHOUT letting them know you're going there. Best is, not to use it abroad period. It triggers their security system.

And where exactly does it say you can not use an ATM in a country other than the country of residence?

I think like many years ago it applied to login to the account? But it is no more valid rule.

Either way I just paid with the card in many countries and nothing is being blocked.

True. My case was many years ago, and pretty harsh too. I ended up in Portugal, no cash. And had to find my way back to Holland. Neteller was as flexible as the pyramids in Egypt.

Perhaps then, if this limitation is not active anymore, there could be something else. I'm sorry to read about all troubles.

Even-though it's been said that it is not like that anymore, perhaps it would still be of benefit to approach customer service and specifically ask them about it?

Yes you can. However be aware of the 5% fee and the terrible exchange rates they use. If you're thinking of converting to Bitcoin for example be prepared for a ~10% haircut.
