Default Nevada regulators ready for possible online gambling legislation

Nevada gaming regulators say the state would be ready if Sen. Harry Reid's attempt to legalize online poker succeeds. Reid, the Senate Majority Leader who represents Nevada, began circulating a draft bill to legalize online poker on Friday.

    From the GPWA:

"We do have a statute in Nevada that would allow for online gambling," Nevada Gaming Control Board Chairman Dennis Neilander said. "It's something we've given quite a lot of thought to over the years."

In 2001, Nevada passed legislation that allowed the Nevada Gaming Commission, working with the Control Board, to adopt regulations governing the licensing and operation of online gaming in the state.

Well, that's a good news for online poker players in Nevada. At least they're seeing a major jump for online gambling legislation in their state.
