Lightbulb New Golf Tipster site - feedback please!

    Hi guys,

I just launched https://www.GolfTipsters.com - we offer algorithmically generated tips, aimed at the US market. We offer free tips and also a paid 'Pro' membership with better tips and stakes etc.

A lot of the tips are to be placed on the Betfair Exchange as the American bookies offer terrible odds (compared to the UK) since each-way bets aren't really a thing there.

Would love some feedback on the brand/product/feel etc and if you'd be interested yourselves?

    Cheers,
    Jim

Nice site with a good and clean design. Loading time was also quick. Think about adding an arrow that takes your users to the top of the pages. You've got a catchy domain name and the little green flag next to your logo name looks pretty cool.

Layout looks fine to me. One of the better ones I've seen of this type offer (and seen a lot over the years).

This would worry me if I was a newbie/reasonably inexperienced punter........(and wild estimate would put 80-90% of likely visitors into that bracket, but I do mean a wild guesstimate)..........

"22 tips an event!? Why so many?"

Even with the explanation below it. Maybe an actual real world illustration would help here (eg, here were our recommendations for xxx tour. You'll see that xxx, xxx, and xxx placed at odds of xyz, xyz, and xyz. Meaning the return on the 22 bets was +abc, and with an expected longest losing run of yyy, you'll see likely profits of nnn over time).

But maybe that's too complex, and all you really want are the punters that want the odd win without realising/taking notice of slow(er) build up of profit over time.

As an experienced punter, I would be running a mile from anything that says 'pay for the pro, or get free tips for nothing'......so you mean your tips are good enough to pay for and you can stand behind that, but you're also prepared to give me a bunch of sh1t guesses for free?? How do you decide what's cream and what's for the second-class freebie searchers?

Of course, we know that's the game. I do realize this is a well-used model. You're not the only one.

You could go pro completely and cut the bullsh1t...but then you've cut out the major bulk of the market that might sign up (directly to pro, or free punters converting upwards - either cos they got a lucky win or because they're losing on free but still tempted to find out if pro is better).

Even with Pro, most punters will find out (or know already) that a bunch of consecutive losing events is likely to hurt the bankroll, maybe beyond repair/recovery. I suspect you'll need to be showing some hard historical results that will help prove otherwise (and I couldn't see any, though may have just missed them). Profit charts - arguably - mean nothing.

And of course, I'm only guessing that the free tips are next to worthless. The above is meant to illustrate the point rather than pass ultimate judgment (since the only way to be sure is to try...and I don't bet golf).

Edit Ignore some of what's above, just realized if you hover on the graph it does show the profit/loss/number of winners per event.

Might want to take a look at your SSL if you’re still working on this site.

+1, I clicked away when there was no SSL and the warning came up, it's a must-have from the beginning.

Site is good and simple - minimalist.

But when I visited your website, my anti-virus software BitDefender didn't let me visit.

    Possible it's a false-positive.

Site loads pretty fast, but I couldn't add it to: https://pagespeed.web.dev/ - to check the actual speed.

Saw you have some broker links which redirect to: https://sorry.owgr.com/404.html when clicking on Event Name (example: John Deere Classic)

Great, simple and hopefully effective Sign Up popup and I like that you've censored the Value:

I believe you should take a look at your FAQ's section:

Hope my inputs will help you.Best of luck!
