Default New here, is it still worth it to start up a new casino affiliate website?

    Hello,

My name is Richard and I am from The Netherlands.
I have quite a lot experience with WordPress but I have no websites at the moment.
I really like to start and have my own casino/bingo affiliate website in The Netherlands.
The problem is the same like everywhere in the world is that there are sooo many casino affiliate websites, also in The Netherlands.
This my biggest question, is it still worth it to start up a new casino affiliate website in my own country The Netherlands ??

Looking forward to see your replies and maybe some advice.

    Kind regards,
    Richard

Welcome Richard. There is still money to be made but it is not easy. It is just like starting any other business, you have to work hard and the first few years can be tough.

I wouldn't quit your day job (literally). I would keep making money doing whatever you job is and work on your site on the side. At the same time it also depends on your situation. Do you have wife and kids to support? Mortgage? other payments?

I am not sure about the netherlands, but I have spoken to others about their first few years. Some people get their business going within their first year which is great. But depending on your situation I would keep it part time and once you start to see your profits then consider going full time.

Thank you so much for the welcome

I know it will be a difficult task to see results from this business but this is the same like other businesses but the casino industry is quite busy.

At this moment I do not have a job because i had an operation on a hernia 4 weeks ago and when I will be recovered after a few weeks I need to look for a job here in The Netherlands cause I lost my job because of problems with my back, this happened already twice.

I am married and we have 3 kids,so money is quite important for me,but right now when I am recovering I will get money.
It would be nice to start in this business and earn some extra pocket money, let's say €200,- a month, with that I would be very happy already.

I absulety don't think about earning a fulltime income from a casino affiliate website,it would be very nice, but also very difficult

My target is to start and earn some extra money after a while and after that i will see what happens.

    Kind regards,
    Richard

I think one of the clues in what you need to consider is in this.....''there are sooo many casino affiliate websites, also in The Netherlands''

So some of the questions you might want to think about are ''OK, so how can I differentiate myself from them. And if I can't be different, how can I be better. And if I can't be better- but I can match them - then what could I do to get traffic/visitors that they are not doing. What angle could I use to build a site that either no one else is doing, or the competition isn't particularly strong''

It might be worth looking at some successful existing .nl sites. Could you match or better them.

If you don't think you could then you'd need to consider how you'd get anyone to visit (and then stay) on your site.

You say you have experience with Wordpress...but SEO (in general + specifics) as well? And if not SEO, do you have other experience with advertising which you might use to get traffic?

Would your site be in your home language, or in English.

If you target English -and this might be a little over critical - then you might be at a disadvantage. You will need to work harder than others to get English context and some grammatical structure exactly right.

I definitely don't mean to put you off with any of this...but these are a few good starting considerations.

    Thank you for the replies.
I think I just have to start building the website with Wordpress instead of thinking if I should start or not

I will target the dutch market cauae that's where i live.

The first problem is already here....what domain shall i use cause the best keyword names are already.gone, also in .nl.

I have 2 names in my mind but I'm not sure which one i should use for my website.
Can I discuss this with one of you via PM?

    Thanks in advance.

    Richard,

You sound like you have the time and so I agree 100% to get a plan together and get started. You can always amend or add bit later - Wordpress is great for that.

The best domains are always gone, I'm afraid. Happy to help with choosing between the two you have in mind if you need some assistance.

Most of all, have fun, use your time productively and have patience.

I'm fairly new here so don't think I can PM. But you can try sending a PM and see if I'm able to reply, if you want a second opinion on domain names. I feel like I've spent half my life researching domain names, so might be able to offer some value

It seems we need to have at least 10 posts before we can send pm's to other members.

    Hi Richard,

I don't work within this industry but it's the same with most saturated markets, find a new route to market or a new market route to your website, make it different. I would also avoid Bingo from what I have seen, as this industry has been on the decline for sometime, but I'm sure some people will still be making money

    Hello Richard,

Yes, there is definitely money to be made in this industry, and it is never too late to jump in as an affiliate. Sure, it is much harder to earn an income than it used to be, thanks to evolving search engine algorithms, dodgy affiliate programs and changing laws, etc, but if you have a solid plan and are prepared to work hard, you will get there. I wish you all the best.

    Hi Richard
Welcome to GPWA! I won't repeat the advice given above. These guys have given some great ideas, and "food for thought" as the saying goes. From my experience there is a market in the Netherlands and we often have operators asking us for affiliates with traffic in the Netherlands. So it seems to be one of interest.
If you can follow some of the advice from the members on GPWA and start getting some traffic, you will find some good affiliate deals available available to you (we can assist you with this side of things).
    Good luck!

Thank you all for your replies.

Good to see that you are positive about starting a new casino affiliate website.

Now i want to start I have another question about a domainname.

The best names are gone, also in The Netherlands with .nl.

What I really want is a keyword rich domain with for example "online casino "in the name, but this is almost not possible.

And I also want to promote bingo and betting, will this work on a "online casino " domain?

More advice for the name is always welcome

    Regards,
    Richard
