New and improved web version of the GPWA Times magazine!

I’m pleased to announce a new and improved web version of the GPWA Times magazine. Previously access to the magazine online was limited to our providing access to a rather large pdf file. That’s now changed. The current edition of the magazine is now published in a new format online with all sorts of cool features.

To begin with, some of the basics are handled in a much better way. In the new format, pages are loaded as they are needed, so response time is better. And different zoom levels are available, so you can easily zoom in and out when looking at the magazine.

We’ve created hotspots on pages throughout the magazine to make it more interactive. In the cover, and in the table of contents, where different articles are called out, simply click on the text calling out the article and the magazine opens to the page you are after.

If you are reading an interview with an affiliate, the banner with their name links through to their GPWA member profile page. And the listings of the websites they operate link directly to their websites as well.

Affiliate program advertisements now link through to the affiliate program’s website. And the same is true of interviews with affiliate program managers. On the GPWA sponsor directory pages in the magazine every sponsor logo now links directly to their website as well.

But the feature I like best is the new search function – try it out. When you search you are given a list of pages that match your search, each with a snippet of surrounding text. And when you click on a result the magazine is turned to the right page, and every instance of the search term is highlighted on that page.

How to Subscribe to the Print Edition

Of course, the magazine will continue to be available as a print publication we will mail to our members free of charge. If you are already registered on the GPWA site, then to subscribe to the GPWA Times Magazine just click on the "Edit My Details" option under the "My Account" menu bar navigation item (you need to be logged in for this option to be available). If you fill in your mailing address information in your profile, we will mail a copy of the magazine to you and we'll also include some prior issues if we have not already sent you them. If you are not already registered on the GPWA website, then just click the "Join GPWA" link above the navigation bar, and follow the "Register Now" link on that page, being sure to provide your mailing address when you register.

We have a new issue coming out shortly, so be sure to add or update your information by the end of next week to be included in the upcoming issue's mailing.

GPWA Times Magazine - Twenty First Issue Cover

We're pleased with what Google analytics is telling us about folks that have looked at the magazine online over the last couple days. The average visitor has spent over 20 minutes looking at the magazine. Over time we should be able to better understand what content in the magazine is most interesting to folks. The editorial team is excited about being able to have feedback about what articles get the most attention and what pages folks spend the most time reading.
