Have a 100% UNIQUE angle that no one else is taking. Otherwise, what is the draw for joining this new forum of yours?

I'm not sure that's what I meant but it is a start.

David, you should have a unique thing on your forum (not a promotion).
Why should someone register on your forum and post there? Okay he can take that promotion. But once he has that promotion he will leave and never come back if you don't have something a other forum doesn't have.

It's catch 22 with a forum, you need members and active members to get new members, work on design and niche areas. I use Postloop to get it going for members and posts and maybe look at aggregating Poker news via RSS feeds, I would opt for a .com domain and vbulletin theme customised.

Starting any kind of forum is difficult, especially if you don't already have some kind of community.

Without active threads, you're really going to struggle getting anyone to sign up - I had a quick browse and the majority of posts didn't have any replies (also you have far too many sticky threads).

As the others have said, you need to find some kind of unique angle and/or find a way of jump starting the site. I have no plans to start a forum, but if I did I'd probably be paying 10 - 20 people a small wage to post on it regularly to get it going. At least for the first few months...

I think the forum needs a design makeover - it's a bit rough.
I would go for a forum that targets a niche market such, such as players from a specific country.

There are few thing that i found in forum that need consideration are:-

first of all the number of post you should increase, write different thread by yourself. So that if user comes on your site he at-least will have something to answer.

Second thing is that if you want to run only forum please give it a unique name not sub-domain please. Although it's not that important but it will be a good idea to make your forum with self hosting rather than hosting your forum on other's server.

I agree! Both the logo and adds would discourage me from signing in and visiting your site regularly - there are hundreds of poker forums and your forum doesn't stand out of the crowd. It's also too dark for me.
    Anyway, good luck!
