Default New tennis pick/preview site - let me know what you think

    Hi people,

I am in charge of tennispunt dot com, a tennis pick website used to give comprehensive analysis on ATP and WTA tennis matches throughout the year. I have strong knowledge of tennis, so i thought i'd set up this site to give insight to visitors, and also a way for myself to make money through affiliate links.

Please tell me what you think of the site, what you think of the affiliate links in place, and how i could improve the site in any way. Thank you

The site is about 4 weeks old, i have had several clicks on many of my affiliate links, however i am yet to have a signup through any links, but hopefully the signups will come in time. One thing i'd also like to ask would be what do you think of my bookmaker selection? I know Bet365 has a plethora of members already and new signups to this bookmaker may be rarerer than others but i put it on because of the live streaming aspect which could encourage clicks.

    site looks nice

i would geo target US with 5dimes and betonline (good for fav's) and bovada and for rest of world you prob should add pinnacle to the others you have there. you know the uk ones limit pretty quick if you show any knowledge in the tennis markets, particularly the challenger stuff , so long term I think better with pinnie and sbo mainly. both have turnover models and tennis being an all yr sport you can slowly bank up some decent turnover through them.

build up a base of static articles that cover stuff like the diff rules on retirements, player motivation through diff parts of the yr etc....as theres not much actual tennis betting stuff online that is worthy.

I visited your site and I like it. I can't imagine there are too many tennis sites out there. Best of luck to you. How are you getting several clicks already with your site being only 4 weeks old?

The site looks really clean. Like feelthenoize mentioned, there aren't many website tennis related so this could be a great win in the long run. One question i have, can you please tell me what is the widget you used on the lelft for bookmaker offers? I've been looking for a similar one.

    Cheers

Your write ups on the matches read well and seem to come from someone knowledgeable on the sport. A good start. There are one or two grammatical/spelling errors which would normally turn me off...but in this case the information presented overrides that.

For me (who knows nothing about the players, when tournaments are on etc) it was difficult to work out which matches had already been played and which were still to be played out. For that reason I'd make it clear when the match is (date/time)...and move off/archive those matches already completed...or at least add a line saying what the result is/was.

The two I looked at went the opposite way to your pick, but that's no big deal because you clearly analysed the match to find the best value...over time (as long as you do get a few right) that will appeal to anyone who understands that you can't win all the time at any form of sports betting, and seeking value is a good approach.

Aside from all this, yes you also have an opportunity to build up the site outside of actual match reviews. Your article on up an coming players reads very well. More of that type will not go amiss.

Half of my traffic comes from Google organically, the rest from Twitter. I'm not sure if you're referring to clicks i get from search engines or clicks on the affiliate links? Traffic from Google seems good because of good titles in the articles, i believe that may be one of the reasons. I can't explain why i'm getting clicks on my affiliate links, although nothing more than i expect really with them being quite prominent on the site. No signups yet however.

I built that little table in Dreamweaver, hosted the images online and grabbed the HTML from Dreamweaver and added it to the site like that. No widget

Hi, your website looks OK, but I have some ideas to the visual aspects:
    1. the pictures from articles on the main site look outstreched which make the people on this pictures look weird and unnaturally. Just scale the pictures properly
    2. There is a lot of empty space under the articles section on the main site - fill it with something
    3. Favourite tournaments section - I thought that I will receive some description of some tournament when I click on the one I chose, but surprisingly it moved me to the official website. Maybe you should add some articles describing the tournaments and place there links to official websites

When you're making your pick and mentioning a bookmaker, make it an affiliate link

Yes, i agree about the images being strectched, however the empty space at the bottom isn't bothering me too much at the moment as most users who visit the site come in through an article rather than the home page. I am hoping soon to neaten up the home page, maybe have it going more vertical rather than just having the pictures etc; Maybe have a small picture with text on the right etc; followed by another one etc; etc; But this may take some time as i'm not good at coding.

The favourite tournament idea is good, however when i first started the site my main aim was to try and fill the navigation bar with the most useful links i could, as i found it difficult to find links to put in there. I may think about adding descriptions in the future but for now i'm not too focused on that.

I did trial this the other week, and stopped for a while just to see how it went. I got more clicks for sure, so i will be starting to do this from now on. If you want to see what i did this afternoon you can look at the Jankovic vs Pennetta preview to see how i did it.

Thanks again for all the feedback people, i value your opinions.

Yep, that's the way to do it.

very nice site! I like to layout and the structure but I would change the header. The logo is fine but you could make the site more professional when you do something with the blue layer. Make a custom design. The tips are great and content is very good. I only would not stretch the images. This always looks unprofessional and I personally donīt like these big 250x250 or 300x250 banners.
