New York lawmaker says online poker legalization could happen soon

New York Assemblyman J. Gary Pretlow, Chairman of the Committee on Racing and Wagering, told fios1news.com this week that his “research” into online poker has left him satisfied that New York could implement its own regulated system successfully.

“I had some issues with [online poker] in the past,” Pretlow said. “If New Yorkers are going to participate in online poker, I want it to be the fairest it could possibly be . . . When I do sign off on something, my colleagues feel that it is a good deal and they don’t question why I made a certain decision. They know that if that decision was made, it’s for good reason. So, I don’t really see that there’s going to be much opposition to moving this along.”

You're fanning the flames of my regret. I have Pennsylvania* and NewJersey* though. I also have PokerNYC. To tell you the truth, I have no interest in selling PokerNYC though I have it listed and would if the price was right. That one I was particularly fortunate to get, and I'm optimistic about a resurgence of poker popularity eventually, especially as the state of affairs in the US market progresses.
