Had a serious talk with a fellow webmaster friend of mine and we discussed "no deposit" traffic.
"No deposit" traffic is when you promote brands with no deposit offers and free spins with no deposit. He told me I should be very careful with this kind of traffic because the brands sees this like free traffic.
He meant that when the players cookie duration time was over, the brands starts targeting the players to deposit and I miss my commission.
What is your take on the case?
It's not a very good idea imo because no deposit customers will convert very little for you. There's still a small chance though, that it will bring you only a handful of players after quite some time, if you're willing to wait for it. Hope this helps.
I don't understand the part about the brands targetting the player to deposit after the cookie duration. That makes no sense. Either they sign up and (hopefully) make a deposit or they don't and you earn nothing. But that is the same as regular traffic, unless I am missing something.
Either way, free spins and no deposit traffic is not very valuable and take a lot of clicks to get a decent player, if you ever get one.
Better to focus on players that are willing to deposit instead of scrounging the net to earn 20 free spins on Starburst and making 30 fake accounts before they are thrown out.

As someone who has actually ranked in the No Deposit niche in the past, I can actually say that the traffic is by no means crap and very profitable.
What people probably don't get here is that no deposit traffic attracts degenerate gamblers who will do anything for their fix of gambling. Put it this way and take it as you like, when I was ranking for most keywords in the niche I was getting at least one roller a month.
my experiences are bad with no deposit traffic. also with the casino part of it. the traffic is real garbage and as a casino you spend hours of answering questions from those players who all want everything for free... it converts like crap. we had like 2500 signups a day...only once in a week one player made a deposit of 10 euro or something like that.
Personally i would never ever target those kind of customers... even if i get such traffic for free...as a casino i would probably refuse it.
as an affiliate it can be good for your traffic stats, but the conversion is terrible most of the times. off course it will depend on your website but no deposit forum traffic for example is a big no in the industry... if you have some no deposit offers on a regular site it might convert a bit better...but overall speaking i should avoid this kind of traffic

If the operator you are working with fails to give you credit for the deposits after you sent the signup, don't work with that operator.
If the visitor returns to the operator as a type-in and signs up and the cookie has expired, then that is free traffic to them, and although affiliates might want to still get credit for the signup, the sale was not originally made when the visitor was first sent, or they would have already signed up during the previous visit and had been tagged to the affiliate.
I agree with the general sentiment that no deposit traffic although can gain depositing traffic, overall their value is usually much lower. It is a numbers thing though, and if you gain enough there will be some real long term players scattered in the numbers.

No deposit is neither good or bad. It is a matter of how to spend your time.
I have run a couple of no deposit campaigns that were successful in signing up a lot of new players.
However, the conversion rate was lower than deposit customers. Much lower.
I was able to do this on a sporting event that I have run campaigns for both deposit and no deposit.
The residual income of the deposit customers was far better than the no deposit customers.
No deposit traffic and/or free bankroll traffic is not nearly as valuable as "normal" traffic.
However, if you happen to be the only affiliate offering such a deal, i.e. you get an exclusive, then it has value. How much of course is debatable, but any time you can leverage your position with an operator and get something that no other affiliate is offering, you win financially-speaking.

We target no deposit players too and the conversion is good but the profit is low.

As you need to get payments for each player signed up and made a deposit.
I think you should be careful about no deposit.
The reason for this is that some people will play for free and then go to another casino site to play for no deposit bonus.
An affiliate I know once told me that he wasted a year of his time because he couldn't get any depositors when he only introduced casino sites that offered no deposit bonuses.
That's why I try not to say "no deposit" too often.
The important thing is to get people to deposit and play, so I don't think "no deposit" is a good offer for affiliates.
A time ago, when I didn't know and understand how everything works, I decided to put a 50 free spins banner right at the top of my home page and run Bing Ads to get some traffic, LOL.
I expected visitors to make no deposits, but my goal was to get sign-ups, in case somebody in future decides to comes back and make a deposit or even becomes a regular player.
So, I picked the best "FREE" related keywords, set the banner up and started the rock roll...
On that day, I had 500+ sign-ups.
The result! During the whole year, only two came back and deposited £8 and £15.
TBH that was a good lesson as since then, I avoid using the word FREE on my sites at all.
Except when I describe a casino welcome bonus and there are some free spins added to it.
Everyone's different, but I think, for all this free stuff you need some specific approach,
I mean you have to clearly understand why it is needed at all on your site.
Following my own natural Instincts as a “miser” and a “cheapskate”, I focused a lot on no deposit casino bonuses and free spins.
That was a basic mistake. I should have focused on what would be the most profitable TimeWise rather than my own preferences.
I am sick of chasing after pennies, I'm going to go after bigger bucks!
My personal opinion is that dealing with no deposit players is a total waste of time. A lot of fraud and no income. But opinions are different :)
No deposit players is not my piece of cake definitely - abusers, bonus hunters and many bad expeiences.
Just stay away from people, who will do everything, but not making a deposit and they just hunt for places where they can play for free.
If it was a really bad niche, casinos and affiliate sites would stop focusing on it or bigger sites buying more no deposit sites.
It might be a good conversion and low profit, but still maybe a worth to try.

I genuinely feel like no deposit traffic is basically worthless. It's nothing to brag about, converts very low and when it does, it's low value. I think casinos are becoming smart to that.
Very interesting topic and feedback. Will be following for sure. We perform very well with these bonuses but this provides a different perspective.
