Default Northern Ireland Bookmakers to Voluntarily Reduce FOBT Maximum Stake Limit

This is in my opinion great news, that Paddy Power and William Hill are going to follow Ladbrokes lead and reduce the Maximum Stake on FOBT's come April 1st. As the province doesn't fall under the UK Gambling Act 2005, betting shops do not have to legally reduce the maximum stakes on FOBT's in their Northern Ireland shop estates. As the legislation only covers England, Scotland and Wales.

This should be good once it comes into effect on April 1 and will bring some important changes along with it. Although there are many bookmakers claiming that they are likely to close a number of shops after its introduction.

The onus is on the bookies to ensure staff redundancies are kept to a minimum. The only reason there may be so many closures of shops is actually of the bookmakers own doing. By getting around the maximum allowed number of FOBT's per shop ( which is 4 ), they opened up additional shops down the road.

I did a video concerning this, walking through the high street of my own town that I live in, to demonstrate this tactic. You can view the video here: https://www.onlinecasinoreviewer.com...-stake-ruling/

Wow, a good move on their part.
