... or Revshare is not Revshare. Example: LVbet - they have a "Big Winner Policy" in T&Cīs.
I remember on March - a regular player wins 7k Euro - this dropped my monthly result around -5k
I thought, no problem, heīll come back next month - for sure he came back, but i saw not a single cent!

Iīll participate on this player not before the casino got "his" money back. Fair RS deal right

I think many convinced too much by the Big Whale stories and afraid to miss. Some for a reason, while others (like free chip traffic sites for example) for no reason at all.

Eventually, it's just about numbers. of course not short and you need enough statistical data to analyze, but when you have it - it's pretty simple.

If you've been earning $150 for a year on rev-share (with reasonable amount of players) - there is simply no reason to expect that you will land that whale. Maybe it will happen, maybe not, and maybe big chunk of that $150 rev-share was due to one big players so you might as well earn less.

I think that the fear to "miss" actually does the opposite for many affiliates: sitting on low rev for that potential upside, instead of enjoying constant higher earnings.

As many other Affiliate Managers I also get new affiliates asking CPA, from operator point of view if the affiliate or their traffic source is not known to us itīs very hard to justify CPA. As operator and affiliate point of view is always better to start the cooperation first with revenue share and after few months data check what would be mutually beneficial.
Absolutely agree with this. At the end every closed deal should be a win-win situation for both operators/affiliates in order to be sustainable.
    Cheers!

Agree, don't burn your opportunities for a short comfort - probably i could send a couple of operators some FTDīs from questionable quality and take 150 or 200 - but that will be not a very long lasting relation right

Great arguments from both sides, but MMM and Triple both said it better than I can about the pros and cons of CPA vs revshare. And this relates back to the original topic of this thread, which is about probabilities and statistics when involving a CPA deal.

What is the probability that you will land a big whale on a revshare with an honest program who will share in the profit without screwing the affiliate vs commanding an upfront bounty rate based on your traffic's statistics and reduce the affiliate's risks?

Today iīve calculated my stats for last 24 month for my top10 best performing operators.
In every single case, the revenue by RS beats a estimated CPA ($160) by 30% until 150%

nice. The stats and the fact that you took the time to calculate all. Btw, why you calculate estimated CPA at $160. I don't know if you are sports or casino of course...
