Default Ok, this is getting ridiculous.. gamesforgirls.com sells for $500k!

How does such an awful domain sell for this much money? If anyone related to this sale is looking for more domains I have some gems!

    Here is the source:
    http://www.domainnamenews.com/domain...om-500000/8826

This is how the negotiation must have gone:

Buyer: Hello sir, I noticed you have GamesForGirls.com for sale, can you please send me a price?
Seller: Yes, it is for sale, but this domain is quite ultra premium and won't go cheap. We are holding out for an offer of at least $x,xxx, xxx, xxx.
    Buyer: Would you take $500k?
Seller: (in his head: OMGOMGOMG followed by long pause) Yes, we have a deal.

Wow, your right. It's hard to believe that this domain went for so much money. I think your transcript of how the deal went down is dead on accurate. lol

    I think it is brilliant,

It must be like when those people greated the "bling" app, for iPhone, just a red ruby star picture but it cost like $1000 to buy it, just to show of that you had money and could waste it on a stupid thing.

Maybe should buy - extremlyexpensiveurl.com and see if we have any takers

That is crazy - I wonder what products they will advertise in order to justify such an investment!

That is beyond crazy. Particularly as some genuinely worthwhile domains went for fractions of that.

Taking just one clearly far more valuable example: hotelreservierung.at went for just over 4,000 Euros - that's hotel reservation with an Austrian TLD.

It won't be released for a few days at least until the domain transfers from SEDO, but once it does I am sure the word will get out very quickly.

Chances are they will want $2M after seeing what this one went for.

No one knows who the buyer is just yet, but is not Bill Kara of Hallpass Media for sure 'cause he denied it immediately. On the seller side, Garry Chernoff, of NetIncome Ventures Inc is responsible for the sale.

The only speculation I heard for the owner is Zynga, but that was pure speculation.
