Default One more reason Chipleader is gone for me.

Just another reason I killed Chipleader on my sites, got this today:

As you know, Absolute Poker and UltimateBet recently increased their loyalty offerings to make playing at the two online poker sites even more enticing.

As a result, we are making some adjustments to the way bonus dollars are deducted.

Beginning June 1st, 2009, Chipleader will deduct 50% of all Bonus Dollars that your players incur. This includes all signup bonus as well as any reload bonuses that your players may enjoy.

If you have any questions please contact Chipleader at support@chipleader.com.

I'm so glad that I stopped working with them more than a year ago. I found that Absolute and Ultimatebet were blacklisted by CM and removed them from my site immediately.

I saw that and got really disgusted when I read it.

It was bad enough that I saw a really BIG winner in blackjack a few months ago. So much so that I had recently figured out that if I stayed on the exact same pace with them I have been really on I would not see another dime in commission until after the first of next year.

Even though I still have poker revenue coming in (in small amounts) and that I should be paid on the poker portions, the fees that I have been incurring for deposits etc (although there is more bj action in those accounts than poker) have been eating up the funds.

I am really disappointed in all poker rooms serving the US market...very few have been worth my time....and the few I would like to promote have horrible stats. I am not sure why the operators lately have the idea that it's ok not to show us V I S I T O R stats.

I almost deleted the pages. I decided to leave them up, remove all links, and post up a huge (h1 size) warning to players.

Rick, I think the only ones seeing any ROI is them. It sure ain't the people donig all the work getting players there. I used to be a 1/2 decent program, when JR left it went in the pooper for me. Then all the cheats/super users/customer "dis" service, and the last straw, killing all the KY accounts w/o notice.

BTW, they let KY players back in now. I hope the good people of KY tell them to shove it.

    Default Chipleader - Touching Base

    Hi Everyone,

I appreciate everyone's feedback on the new changes.

I know that at first this might see outrageous but in reality this is something that is quite fair. Most large competitors (probably the #2 largest) deduct 100% of bonuses. I understand that this modification may seem unfair but I can assure that this is a change that still allows you to have a lucrative package with Chipleader. Chipleader's brands are still one of the most profitable rooms a player and affiliate can be a part of. Please feel free to email Marcela@chipleader.com or Danielle@chipleader.com we'd be happy to hear from any of you.

    Very Best,
    Danielle

Danielle, you would have done better by explaining the logical business reason for the decision, assuming there is one, rather than putting the marketing spin on it about being better than competitors and still a lucrative deal. Good programs don't need to point out how they are better than their competitors. They just need to look after both players and affiliates in a fair manner and the word gets around very quickly. Unfortunately when the news is bad it also tends to spread just as quickly.

To put it in simple terms, it is not a good deal and there are other programs out there that don't deduct the 50%. Very disappointing.
