Thankyou for all the solutions, I think in future I will be making sure I take all these into consideration. Since posting I held a value added tournament at only $2 buy in giving away €10.00 sattelite seats and this worked a treat, I think that the best for both the client and the affiliate is to have a low buy-in and added value to the tournament, that way you are getting depositing players as I have always found from the freeroll scenario I get maybe one or two depositers and a whole load of people that sign up never to deposit or play. Not sure what your thoughts are on this but I certainly prefer to get some quality as opposed to quantity. One client I am working with, I have only about 98 players there and 38 are inactive (Never played Never deposited) However the active players are generating a substancial amount of rake and every month I do my best to add some kind of value added tournament as opposed to freerolls. I would really appreciate peoples thoughts on whether they think the value added tourneys work best or if you have any other ideas of how to improve player retainability

    Thanks

New to this so not sure if this has been said or possible, but isn't it possible to arrange a freeroll that is only eligilble to depositing players?

Most sites are willing (and happy) to set up a depositors game.

From what I've seen so far, what I have been offered for a depositors game or a non depositors game is not that much different in terms of the quality of the freeroll (both having about 1000 ppl)

They wouldn't set up a freeroll lets say for 100 depositors? Not that I can bring those players no anyways, just wondering for the future.

Well, setting it up as a depositor freeroll would be of great benefit to you, most regular freerolls are filled up by freeroll whores and conversion is usually low. In setting up a depositor freeroll you get your conversion up front, but it more difficult to fill the seats.

You can always shop your ideas to other programs if the one that you are currently targeting is not giving the responce you had hoped for. Most affiliate managers are more than happy to help you find ways to attract more paying customers.

Another thing you can do is have a freeroll after the buy in games as a reward to those that payed to play. Most of your faithfull buy in players would enjoy the "gift". When I run a series in this fashion I see better results in the buy ins.

There's one more way....don't call the roll ur forum or blog or whatever. Call it something completely different.
That way when they go down the line they can't find ur site just to reg and do the roll.
Your members will know what its called and that's what counts.
The problem partially is there's too many forums now and too many games......So, if u maybe have two games on the same network, ur screwed. There's only so many you can play, unless u have mulitple puters which some do.......
