"When gambling online, what do you prefer? Free Play or Real Money"

This is a very good question!

An intelligent player will only use real money with good reason.

I will explain it with the history of online roulette: It's a fact, that the so called "fun modus" have nothing to do with true random numbers. In the past the "fun modus" numbers were only a kind of repeating assembly line with e.g. 100.000 prefabricated spins, taking the players for an idiot.

    And today?

After investigating many extensive player experiences over the years and analyses about standard deviation of "fun modus" results my personal conviction is that the "fun modus" is rigged to the favor of the players. This is no crime or unlawful, because the money is not real. The reason is undoubtedly that players will be motivated to play with real money. It's a psychological fact, that they do if they have success in the "fun modus". They don't want to waste a winning streak. No doubt, that casino software provider never admit it publicly.

The final important reason for an intelligent player to avoid the "fun modus" is the "personal permanence (PP)" (PP = Fortune and misfortune of every player during his whole life placing bets with real money - PP is also following the mathematical basic rules).

PP is only valid with true random events, and only with controlling the PP you can neutralize the roulette house edge of the casino in the long run. The bad news: This is only valid for single Zero tables. Playing at double Zero tables is burning money, suicide!

"Fun modus" does not have any influence on the PP. It's worthless.

I answered Real money and this does not mean I am not intelligent as per the post above.

Yes, You will inevitably lose money over time with Gambling. That's a known fact and the reason why many of us are in the industry, however many gamblers gamble with real money for the sheer enjoyment of it and the thrill of having the odd win.

Not everyone is out to gamble their rent money or have a gambling problem, and the majority of gamblers are well aware of the fact that the odds are against them, but it doesn't mean they can't have the enjoyment and are prepared to pay for it, just like one is prepared to pay for a movie or a visit to the zoo. Entertainment costs money and gambling is a form of entertainment. The addition of real money instead of fun money just adds that extra edge to the excitement.

    Heh
Leopold is right: " the "fun modus" is rigged to the favor of the players" This is a kind of really smart promotion and motivation.

I do also prefer "real money" playing, except for slots that I play only for fun. You cannot implement any strategy while playing slots.
Instead of loosing money on slots, I prefer to bet "over/under 2.5 goals" that have 50% chances of winning! or "lay" the match outcome that have around 67% chances of winning! ... or other sophisticated startegies while wagering on betting exchange.

"The final important reason for an intelligent player to avoid the "fun modus" is the "personal permanence (PP)" (PP = Fortune and misfortune of every player during his whole life placing bets with real money - PP is also following the mathematical basic rules)."
Sound like ezoteric concept and indeed, we born with some kind of "luck bank" that is available during our life.
But, I know how to add some fuel to this personal bank

Free play's great for learning the game, but you cannot beat playing for real with a chance of winning big.

1 vote for Free Play, 7 on Real Money
    Keep voting!

Anyway, I agree with Gamer when it comes to playing slots.
I do play slots occasionally on casinos but I never win, ever haha
So, I took advantage of playing slots on free play sites just for the sake of playing slots for fun.

This reminds me of the term "near miss" at slot machines with real money.

"Ontario regulations allow manufacturers to create near misses such as two jackpot symbols on the payline and another just above the payline (Awww shucks, I just missed it!)."

I usually start with free money and set a border which I want to reach. If I am successful I start playing with real money.

Voted for free play despite the fact sometimes I play for real. I play for free to test the games, to see how many additional things can be useful to Real Money Player ( Wilds, Scatters, Bonus, etc.). I play for real, just to test casino, one day I won $7K from $20 deposit, and felt nothing, then I decided to check if there is something wrong with that slot machine (cuz I really tried to loose) and the day after I lost those $7K. Money comes, money goes... Casino always wins!

I am not a player but I can not imagine that free play makes fun. When you like to play then you want to win. This is the only reason and with free play you are not able to win.
