The chief executives at big online gambling firms were none-too-pleased with the questioning of bwin.party co-CEO Norbert Teufelberger last week. The penned a letter to the Financial Times expressing their concerns. A snippet of the letter is below.

While the Belgian authorities are free to intimidate Europe’s leading online gaming groups with threats about the consequences of challenging their domestic gambling laws, the European Commission has yet to receive an answer to its own concerns regarding the regulatory regime in Belgium that have remained unresolved since issuing its detailed opinion back in 2009.
The letter is signed by both bwin.party CEOs, as well as the CEOs of Victory Chandler, bet365, Betclic, Winamax, Gamesys, Stan James, 888, Sportingbet, Betsson, William Hill and 32Red.
