Something tells me that the 580,000 members of the online gaming (not gambling) company E-Sports Entertainment didn't know their computers were being searched for Bitcoins when they downloaded the company's software. But that's exactly what happened, and not only did the malware search their computers, they also stole Bitcoins when they found them, and then the co-founder sold them on the secondary market and kept the cash.
It was quite the scheme, really. They netted $3,500 worth of Bitcoins, and now have to pay a $1 million settlement (or at least $325,000, assuming they don't get in trouble again).
