    Default Online gaming regulation moves forward in New York and Pennsylvania

    There was more forward progress in the U.S. for online gaming regulation in the last week.

    In New York, a bill that would legalize and regulate online poker passed the state's Senate with a 54-8 vote earlier this week. New York's first-year online poker market is estimated at $120 million.

    Also, last week the state of Pennsylvania's House passed an amended version of HB 271 that would, in addition to the legalization of online casinos, poker and daily fantasy sports, permit video gaming terminals at certain physical locations. But two significant hurdles remain: the presence of video gaming terminals at nongaming properties and the issue of the online gambling tax rate.
