    Default Online gaming revenue in Sweden rises 12.2%

    According to a press release from Sweden’s Spelinspektionen regulatory body, the country's gaming market had sales of SEK 23.4 billion after paid profits in 2018, which marked a modest 1.5% year-over-year increase.

    However, online revenue was up 12.2% in 2018 with online casino increasing 13.7% and sports betting rising 11.5%, accounting for 52% of the overall total.

    Other key figures from the press release:

    Svenska Spel had sales of SEK 8.8 billion, which is a decrease of 2.2 percent. The land-based games decreased by 9.7 percent, while games on the internet increased by 20.0 percent.

    ATG's turnover was SEK 4.1 billion, which is a decrease of 1.5 percent. The land-based games decreased by 10.7 percent. Internet gaming increased by 5.2 percent.

    National Lotteries Folkspel, Bingolotto and Sverigelotten, had sales of 673 million, an increase of 3.0 percent.

    The Swedish Postcode Association had a turnover of SEK 2.0 billion, a decrease of 2.7 per cent.

    IOGT-NTO, which among other things has the Million lottery, had sales of SEK 224 million, a decrease of 23.7 percent.

    Other organizers of national lotteries, such as the Cancer Fund and PRO, etc., had sales of SEK 199 million, which is a decrease of 3.1 percent.

    Actors without a Swedish license in 2018 had a turnover of SEK 6.7 billion, corresponding to an increase of 12.4 percent.

    Don't forget checking out the Netherlands guys: Senate has approved the new online gambling bill recently. Gambling permits will be handed out soon to online casinos. Finally, 100% legal online gambling. I expect a 'gambling boom' in the Netherlands.

    Sweden is a hell of a market for online casinos, I don't understand why more Countries are following in their footsteps as well.

    I have only ever promoted to UK traffic but seem to get a few hits from Sweden. I was wondering if to enhance advertising for the Swedish market if anyone could advise if there are any strict rules when advertising for Swedish traffic which differs from the UK?
