With single-event sports betting set to launch in Canada next week, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) today released an iGaming Operator Application Guide to "assist prospective iGaming operators understand the application requirements and begin preparing to submit their applications."
All operators interested in participating in Ontario's regulated iGaming market will first need to be registered by the AGCO.
The AGCO will be responsible for regulatory oversight for all gaming activities in Ontario, including igaming operators, suppliers, and the new subsidiary.

Regarding affiliates, supporting documents for operators may include, among other items:The guide was developed after a series of stakeholder engagements were held covering a wide range of topics related to how Ontario's open, regulated, and competitive iGaming market will work.
All applications for registration will be made through iAGCO, the AGCO’s web-based portal and the AGCO will announce the application date in the near future.
An application guide to assist iGaming suppliers will also be released shortly.

Partnership & Limited Partnership: showing the relationship between the partners, any affiliates or subsidiary entities, and any individual or entity that has a 5% or greater interest in the partnership.
Corporation: showing the relationship between the applicant and all shareholders (including parent or holding corporations) owning 5% or more of any shares of the applicant corporation, and any affiliated or subsidiary corporations.
Joint Venture: showing the relationship between the joint venture partners, any affiliates or subsidiary entities, and any individual or entity that has a 5% or greater interest in the joint venture.
Association: showing the relationship between the applicant and any entities forming the association, any affiliates or subsidiary entities, and any individual or entity that has a 5% or greater interest in the association.
