An Open Challenge to GPWA - The Line in the Sand is Drawn!

I was speaking to Michael yesterday and I issued the following challenge which he was quick to accept:

A CAP vs GPWA Tug Of War will take place on the beach at CAP Spring Break in Cyprus. This will be a herculan effort of strength, strategy and shear weight!

What's at stake
The honor of being the CAP Spring Break Beach Olympics Champions for 2008 and all inherent bragging rights associated with that. Plus we will have prizes for all the contestants.

Here's how it works:

A six person team will be selected from each group to represent their community.

Michael will be organizing his best candidates and we will do the same.

At the announced time the rope warriors will meet in battle on the beach.

Spectators will have an endless supply of ice cold beer, wine and rum punch to quench their thirst as they cheer on their team.

The winning team is the one which drags the other across the centerline.

Once the champions have been crowned then we will all celebrate and proceed to other beach friendly activities, like drinking, swimming, drinking, burying people in the sand, drinking, volleyball, drinking etc....

We look forward to meeting you on the Beach of Battle!

There will be live feeds from the Poker Conference and CAP Spring Break, ASOP will be televised on the Poker Channel, but to protect the innocent (and the portly, like myself) we probably wont be filming on the beach.

You can be sure a tug by tug description along with some still shots will be posted here and at CAP so keep your eye open for a recap.

Greek its a shame you and Fergie cant make it, we want the GPWA team loaded with nice skinny people!

Due to the size of our team I suggest going to the docks and securing the mooring rope from a cruise ship!

Used to take part in a Tug Of War every summer for the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution). The venue was Portsmouth Harbour at low tide. Very messy but great fun.
