Lightbulb Opening a new casino affiliate website

Hello everyone just a few questions I have, maybe some of you can help me, cause I think about these things everyday lol but cant seem to get an answer for most, from google, so I am hoping some good souls here can help out.

    • Did you open a business bank account for the income and any expenses related to your sites please?
    • I am Maltese, so I live in Malta, do I need license to open an affiliate website please?
    • Does hiring streamers/ Instagram influencers to promote your links work?
    • Which social media platforms is online gambling banned in please?
    • Is going to IGB conference worth it, if my site will be up hoping in January, I just went to Sigma and it did help out in a lot but since my site is not live yet, it was a bit difficult making good connections.
    • and 1 last thing please, do you recommend having all niches on websites please? so I am saying, sports, casino etc, or would it be better to focus on 1 please?

Sorry I know its a lot of questions none related to the other, but it would be a great help if I could get these things out of my mind and brainstorm with you all! Thanks a bunch

Did you open a business bank account for the income and any expenses related to your sites please? Yes, once I started making some steady income. But I would not do it until you are sure your afiliate website will generate enough income to make it worth the time and hassle.

I am Maltese, so I live in Malta, do I need license to open an affiliate website please? I have no idea.

Does hiring streamers/ Instagram influencers to promote your links work? If you are starting out, focus on getting real organic (search engine) traffic first. Succesful streamers charge enormous amounts of money to promote brands direclty and often run their own affiliate sites. Why would they work for you? Do you have enormous budgets to spend? How do you know who to trust? Have you thought about a business model?

Which social media platforms is online gambling banned in please? This is something you should be able to figure out yourself to be honest. Do your homework.

Is going to IGB conference worth it, if my site will be up hoping in January, I just went to Sigma and it did help out in a lot but since my site is not live yet, it was a bit difficult making good connections. That depends. If your site goes up in January, through lots of hard work and great persistance you may get your first depositor within a year. But in no way, shape or form will you be in a position to make any better deals than the default deals. But if you want to learn about the business, attend some of the workshops / panels, maybe talk to some other affiliates or affiliate managers, you could learn a lot.

and 1 last thing please, do you recommend having all niches on websites please? so I am saying, sports, casino etc, or would it be better to focus on 1 please? Definitely focus on one niche and do it well. Sports is extremely hard, especially if you have no knowledge on sports.

    Good luck!

I don't fully know the answers but I asked one casino affiliate site I worked for and he says this.

You can send revenue to your personal bank account and you can make a company later. You just have different taxes to deal with and Malta has better businesses taxes but do when you need.

Don't do a generic gambling site. Be specific.

You can't just hire influencers. If it was as easy as this then everyone would quite their jobs and do this too.

When you are new, I'd say going to a conference is very much worth it to get some connections, meet people, get some sense of what the business is all about. After a few years, it's good to catch up with old friends, but other than that, not worth especially if you are in NZ or Australia and have to several fights that are a week long (kidding but not really).

Don't put the horse before the cart in terms of registering companies, worrying about taxes and whatnot. Once you start making decent money, you can hire legal advice and get it all setup, cause the forum isn't the place to ask that sort of stuff and expect answers that will be specific to your location.

All streamers promoting gambling are affiliates as well so they wont promote someone elses affiliate link.

As for what you should focus on is up to you. Don't let people's personal opinions influence you.

"do you recommend having all niches on websites please? so I am saying, sports, casino etc, or would it be better to focus on 1 please?"

There are some common-sense considerations to answers on this:

If you're running/developing a general gambling site (example gamblersutopia, gambling123, etc etc etc) then logically you have to cover all types of gambling, or you cannot ever be a true authority.

Could you rank and/or get traffic by not covering everything in this example? Yes, you might.
But for the highest chances of some levels of success, being considered an authority is (on all known evidence) most desirable.

If you're running/developing a website about sports betting/poker/casino gaming (or any other specific topic), then logically you focus on that specific topic to build authority in it.

Once you have an authoritative presence, then you can theoretically branch sideways without diluting your authority in the core topic, and/or build out associations between topics that let you make the connections and branch out, again without diluting (and in some cases increasing, if you do it cleverly enough) your 'created' authority in the core topic.

In this case, once you have traffic (for example let's say sports betting), then adding casino or poker or whatever pages/offers might encourage some of your sports betting visitors to sample your alternative options. But no point in doing that until you already have the sports betting traffic (in viable numbers), and to get that traffic you either need to have done something clever to get it, or built (you guessed it) enough authority around sports betting to get ranked and get it.

Bottom line, focus on demonstrating expertise in a subject. You'll need to demonstrate that for search engine success (to get a chance at rankings), and also you'll need to demonstrate it if you're getting traffic a different way (or those users won't be interacting with what you have anyway).

    *******

    Another consideration....

Go broad...and your costs (in $s and time) multiply exponentially. You risk stretching yourself too thin, taking too long to build a worthwhile presence, and potentially could create negative perception and results around what you're trying to do.

On the other hand, go broad...with time and $ resources that mean you can cover it all exceptionally well...and without diluting your core initial proposition...and you can multiply the potential positive outcomes. For a lone worker, fairly new to the game, it would be an understatement to suggest achieving this with desirable levels of success will be 'difficult'.
