Default Over $250,000 payout to one player this month

I've got one player that has won over $1/4 million in bits and pieces this month. He's lost slightly more that that, so I should pick up a bit on commission. I've never had a player spend so much time, and win so much before. I guess it really is time for me to tidy up my sites and join GPWA.

Heck, you could make a few dollars promoting these casino things.

I'm a "hang around on the peripherery with loads of small, rubbishy sites" type of webmaster. I need to talk to Roxy and try to be sensible for a change.

You just have to keep in mind that most players play back what they win. I had a whale win 180k at a slot machine on the 1st of this month and the same player won another 20k a couple of days ago!

Can I draw your attention to this part of my post.

"I've got one player that has won over $1/4 million in bits and pieces this month. He's lost slightly more that that, so I should pick up a bit on commission."

Please note the bit about him losing more that that. How else could I have worded it then? The bottom lineis that he was about 8 grand down, but hes just pulled back 2 of that.

what affiliate program are you seeing this?

I figured thats on Roxy and what you have is something like:
Account Number - Income - Payouts - Profit - Free Money
    frpr003380** - 258000 - 250000 - 8000 - 0

That doesnt mean he won $250,000.
It means that $250,000 is his total returns on the $258,000 in bets he had.

Thats the playthrough or handle as I understand it. It's the key figure used when working out whether a player meets the bonus wagering requirements or not. As playsafe says, bets laid less bets won will give you the value that the casino won.

However, to generate handle of $258K is no mean feat. You certainly do have a good player there. Hope you hang on to him, they are few and far between.

If it is Roxy, I have found them to be pretty good at retention so you definitely will get good value for sending your player there.

We're arguing semantics here. If he bets $1 and a slot pays him $50, then in common parlance he "wins" $50, but he is only "up" $49. It's the same with Poker pots. I'm sorry if the terminology from my old card playing days is not the same as used on Internet casinos.

Is the playthrough the amount he wagered rather than the amount he "won". (sorry but I really don't know another word for it).

I also noted that bigbcasinos used the phrase "bets laid less bets won" which seems similar to my concept.

But hey - it seems we all agree about the facts, and I'm pleased about it, so I'd be grateful if you guys don't try to diminish my amateur attempts in this biz.

OK - apologies, I see where the fault is. It's in the thread title. Of course it wasn't a "payout" by any concept.

I'm sorry I mislead you with that.

    Ace,

Sorry, but I think people were under the impression that the netwin was $250,000.

If in fact it was that amount, it doesn't matter how the player got there.

And like someone said above, if the player had that much in betting activity, they are truly a player that is good to have in your stats...except on those months when they come out ahead.

I have had players hit that in betting activity in a month, and sometimes they come out ahead and sometimes I do.

Please understand NO ONE was trying to diminish the value of what you have accomplished. Congratulations.

No one is trying to diminish anything at all. I promise you

However, make a semantically incorrect statement and you will find a good few willing to point out the error

YOU don't get off that easily, we ALL had to go through this

In some circles, this is known as an initiation!

As regards playthrough, this term is used by a number of casinos whereas a few others use the term handle. What it is is simply the turnover or bets laid. So, your T&C's state $100 deposit plus $100 bonus must be played through 20 times before a cashout. Simply put, they want bets laid to exceed (100+100)x20= 4000

For your player to get to $250K is certainly an excellent sign I think.

Now, where is your application for membership?

    Sorry Dice.

I hope it's someone that doesn't carry over negatives, and that the player stops playing until next month.

Sorry if I was a bit short yesterday. I was trying to put together a rescue package for a guy in another industry. He's done a lot for newbies by offering free hosting and domains, tutorials, and other help. He overstretched his biz, and when he had some personal problems, it fell over. He hasn't asked for money, but just faded out. I was being attacked (mildly) by a few people for trying to help.

I think he deserves it more than the lazy loser that makes begging posts for cash saying that he'll lose his kid if he doesn't get sent $5,000. Unfortunately the loser that gives nothing is the one that seems to get the charity.
