Default Paddy Partners - Refused Cross Promotion

Posted on CM and also to be posted on AGD:

I contacted my account manager at Paddy Partners to enable cross promotion. Currently I only promote the casino and that has very limited exposure.

Unfortunately after speaking to her line manager, they have refused my request to be allowed and be credited for players to Paddy Power's other products, including Sportsbooks.

This I feel is a very short sighted outlook and as such I am removing what exposure they currently do have from my sites as a result.

I have just launched a football site at the beginning of June and to say it is my most active site in terms of overall traffic would be an understatement to say the least.

Not only that Paddy Power's refusal to enable cross promotion which I hasten to add, all other UK bookmakers I work with allow, regardless of what traffic put through, is very wrong IMO.

As a result Paddy Power's decision means they also won't get coverage on casino portals which rank on the first page in google.co.uk for terms such as Casinos Online and Online Casinos.

Too bad Paddy Power, your loss.

I've had some bad experience with them too.

Paddy power also refused me cross product coms. I now have an almost blanket rule - no cross product commissions, no promotion. It's just greedy and short sighted. Only exception on my site is ladbrokes, but they get relatively no promotion and the traffic volume to prove it...

If more affs didn't work with programs like this then maybe they'd change their tune a bit

This is terrible - Paddy Power is a great company and do things very well in my opinion.

This is a big no-no though for affiliates and I am sure a lot of them weren't even aware of this no cross promotion issue.

I hope senior management will see the benefit of offering multi product commission and make a change.

Never had a problem with Laddies, but then I did work for them in Gibraltar for 5 years. I am just amazed, really amazed at the shortsightedness of PP.

Facts are, they have ( soon to be HAD ) very limited coverage full stop. Also I was planning to put their sportsbook creatives on a site that generates a tremendous amount of traffic, which they would have received a lot of exposure to.

Paddy Power's loss is most definately another company's gain.

I promote them through IA and was told that the way it was set up didn't allow cross product coms. Do they pay cross product if you go via another route?

Promote direct via their own affiliate program. Do a google search for Ladbrokes Affiliates.

    Thanks, Dave.

Do they definitely pay cross product commissions?

This, from their site, sounds suspiciously similar to the IA terms:

"Every time a visitor to your website clicks on one of your Ladbrokes links, registers as a new player and plays the Ladbrokes product promoted (Sports, Casino, Poker or Games), you will earn commission."

Like Paddy Power you have to ask them to enable it. They did with no problems for me. But then again, I worked for them for 5 years in Gibraltar and back when I joined their affiliate program, knew many people in Gib. There shouldn't be a problem, but if there is I could see if I could persuade them

For cross-promoting, you can't really beat Bet365. They're fantastic at service, fantastic at cross-promoting themselves, they know how to keep people onboard and they're regular as clockwork with payments.

    My #1 choice, by far.

Hmm, I have a few players signed up through Sportsbook banners. In their activity I see Casino, a few times, but the revenue is always 0.00£ is this why?

I won't even consider joining Paddy after reading this thread.

I hope the folks at Paddy understand how stupid a policy this is, and I also hope they realize that I will NOT be the only one that will NOT join them based upon this policy.

If an affiliate program is not small affiliate friendly (especially small US Affiliate), then they are NOT Affiliate Friendly!

I took the liberty to speak to them. Apparently it's negotiable if you send them a good amount of traffic. Didn't ask what "good" means. It feels like a rip off however. What does it matter on which channel the player spends his money, as long as he generates revenue, you should be getting paid, because you have sent him there.

Well if it isn't a good deal for the small affiliate then it isn't good for....ummmmm....all affiliates....I think I heard that somewhere before.

When I spoke to them they said it was negotiable after 3 months of sending them significant traffic. Think how much revenue you would have lost in that time!

They forgot to mention the 3 months thing to me. I am guessing if someone else spoke with them, he would have another condition as well

    Ha ha, probably.

    Heres the direct quote from the email they sent;

"Cross Channel is usually something that we consider after a trial period of maybe three months."

I also remember seeing a thread on GPWA where an aff sent them a player who spent £2500 and they were told they needed something like another 10 players (off the top of my head) like that to qualify...

    PP are a joke.
