Default Page 1 Rankings at the end of June

    Hello guys,

I've been doing SEO for our website since August 2009, and our goal is to achieve first page rankings for our website at the end of June 2010. But as for now, we are still stacked at the 4th page in rankings 30 to 40 for our target keyword, and time is running out on our side.

We've been doing basic SEO tasks like directory submissions, bookmarking, forum postings, article writing, article submissions, blog posting, ads promotion, commenting, 3-way link exchange, and web profiling.

During the past few days, we already achieved 3rd page rankings, but now our site returns to the 4th page for our target keyword. Therefore, it seems that we need to double our effort in doing SEO. Our website is www.onlinecasinoadmin.com and our keyword is "online casino".

I wanna ask you a favor guys. I know that most of us here are in the same niche, so kindly do a search on Google for our keyword on your PC, find the rank of our website, and please tell me your location, for I've read some issues that there are differences in SERPs depending on the data center, even though using the same www.google.com domain in doing the search at the same time.

Also, I would like to ask for your SEO suggestions so that we can reach our target first page rankings at the end of June 2010. Also tell me where to find quality backlinks, for we all know that most websites do not approve of linking to gambling-related websites like ours. We are really trying our best to do SEO nicely and refrain from using any black-hat method. Thank you guys...

Really sorrty but I can't seem to find you anywhere, checked online casinos as well .....maybe I am missing it?

I would say that online casino as a term is massively competitive and you aren't only up against some very big affiliates with huge budgets but also operators with even bnigger budgets.

Of course its possible to rank for this term but realistically I would say you need to be buying a lot of good links and unfortunately these can't be done too fast so its very much a long term ranking to achieve as you could get in there fast with a few b/h techniques but you wouldn't be there long

Thanks for your effort, but when I am using online SERP tools that are located in the US, based on their website IP, they show that our site is listed somewhere from 10 to 20 rankings, while when we are doing manual search (without personalized search of course), we are somewhere in the 30's to 40's. We cannot rely too much on the results that online SERP tools show, that's why we are considering the results when we do our search in our office (which is not in the US). Any other suggestions besides from doing a little bit of buying text links?

I searched (from Canada) through the first ten pages - your site was not there.

That term is just too competitive! Even sites like casinomeister are barely in the top 100.

Well, thanks everyone for doing the search for me. Perhaps there is a fact behind the speculation that Google search results vary in different data centers, despite of using the same google.com domain and the same keyword. In fact, I've also tried using different browsers and guess what, the results are slightly different! Maybe it's just me or the browser, or I had left some cookies uncleaned, but somehow, searching based on IP and data center is more considerable.

The keyword "Online Casino" is a very competitive keyword. Thus, we need to add more effort in doing SEO for our website.

Become pals with one or more of the dmoz editors, get your site listed and you will be on the front page by the end of the year.

Here in US, when I type in 'online casino' (without quotes), you ranked # 19. When I typed in "online casino" (with quotes), you were # 18.

    Good luck !

But how can you know who is a DMOZ editor or not, and how can you track down an editor for your category.

There are multiple editors across all the forums but I will tell you this, if you intend to buy your listing your chances of having your sites blacklisted are pretty high.

And no that link alone will not get you onto the first page of google for a major term.

There is enough crap, mini networks and garbage in the gambling categories as it is.

    /rant

OP - you could try more content and less banners if you want to rank better. It's not just about links and it would likely be cheaper than buying up all those links lol

Default Page 1 Rankings at the end of June

It's hard to really tell how high google ranks dmoz these days. I'm pretty sure the sites authority is not as high as it used to be though..... All the editors reject listings to get rid of the competition!
