Sports betting company Parimatch, a sponsor of four Premier League teams, has been shut down in the Ukraine under 50-year sanctions related to Russia’s ongoing invasion and imposed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The sanctions impacted 280 companies under the arm of Parimatch LLC, Parimatch Foundation and Parimatch United Investments Limited.

The sanctions were confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who said the entities had withdrawn money from the nation and have financed Russian schemes.
'These are more than 280 companies and 120 people who, through gambling business schemes, worked against Ukraine, withdrew funds from our state and financed various Russian schemes,’ Zelenskyy said.
'It took some time to prepare the decision. The company has vowed to refund customers’ money in full and suspend all partnership contracts, while employees are set to be laid off at the company. Parimatch has called for a further review of the decision.
