Default PayPal eyeing U.S. online gaming market

PayPal might be coming back to the United States, if certain industry reports are to be believed.

Buzzy still pines for the days of his E-Passport Debit Card.

Ummm the statement is kinda wrong....

They never left the US, just stopped allowing US Residents to use their accounts for gaming and closed many many many accounts that had any connections to gaming.

If Paypal was online gaming friendly, it would make things so much easier.

It actually is and has been for years, it just only operates in regulated jurisdictions - we've had it in the UK for online gambling for a long time.

Daily fantasy sports operators like Fan Duel accept Paypal, so the toe is in the door. Technically I guess that is because it's not defined as gambling though - no horse racing sites accept it, I certainly would welcome more acceptance and frankly I'm not sure why they don't work with the regulated industry (horse racing in a bunch of states and gambling in new jersey, nevada, delaware) because the UK obviously serves as a positive example of how it could work. I'd wager we'll see Paypal widely accepted in the regulated industry within a couple years, obviously never accepted by offshore sites serving the grey/black market.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I've had so many bad experiences with Paypal in the past. None of them gaming related either. Their CS is just flat out awful in my own personal experience
