Phil Ivey to appeal Crockford's cheating ruling
Ivey is also in an ongoing legal battle with the Borgata in Atlantic City over the exact same issue -- his "edge sorting" in Baccarat, which Ivey has fully admitted to but says is in no way a form of cheating.
Buzzy is on Team Ivey. Is anyone here on Team Crockfords/Borgata?

I'm never on the side of a cheat.
While being able to identify marks on the reverse of the card and remember hem to advantage is clever, it's not part of the game of baccarat and is clearly gaining an edge outside of the game ... in other words it's cheating.
Mr Ivey knew that which is why he did it secretly rather than openly declare it.
Pretending otherwise and attempting to dance between the definition of cheating will not work.

With millions of dollars at stake, I can see why Phil is putting up a fight, but I don't believe he will win.

@TheGooner People count cards in Blackjack to gain an edge. Do you consider that cheating too?

Move your lips while counting cards and the casino throws you out ...
So yes ... it's clearly a breach of casino terms ... as many docos / dramatisations of the MIT group have shown.
It's pretty simple when playing in a casino - If you can't do it openly then it's against casino T&Cs ...
They consider it cheating.
You can play all the legal weasel games and words that you want ...
In the end it gains an edge then it's considered cheating the game.

They should pay him out, it is their own fault. They agreed to all his requests including using a certain brand of cards, if they agree to everything he has asked for then it's their own fault it must have been pretty obvious what he was up to and if they were to silly to spot it then more fool them I say.
