Default Phil Ivey wins ninth WSOP bracelet

The WSOP APAC is underway in Australia, and yes they're awarding bracelets to winners.

Making big news today is Phil Ivey, who won the $2,200 8-game mix event for his 9th bracelet, moving into a tie with Johnny Moss for fourth on the all-time list.

There were only 81 players who entered the event. Should this count as a bracelet event if Ivey only had to beat 80 other players?

    Hello,

for years, many so-called "Pros" TV viewers have ripped. In the big cash rounds they have given back the money when the cameras were off. Full Tilt has shown what is behind it. A circus with lame horses.

Do you have proof? I doubt any of your accusations are true.

    Hello,

rumors were around long. When it became obvious, German television has completely turned off from those "big-cash-shows". I think even 2 or 3 years ago it was made public in German forums too.

There exist a women who said, had a talk with Scotty Nguyen and he told her that High Stake Poker is a fake. All money that was won or lost is left behind. A no risk game.

Full-Tilt Fraudster like Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson cap it all off.

A liar will not be believed even when he speaks the truth.

And because the German TV is free of censorship, came out that the great Gus Hansen for example frequently had to borrow money from Doyle Bronson in the past.

    Broken, broken and broken again........

    One of many stories.......

    Living Legends look different.

Some people can really make a living from playing Poker, but just as many are just bang bags.

    And...

If sponsors always payed the tournament entry fees for of some "Pros", then the probability...

Chris Moneymaker won with luck. But many TV viewers get crazy. The following shows on TV were the result of it. Shows to make money with branding.

Even the German casinos were flooded with poker players.

And today? A few years later? 10% is left.

Very interesting. I don't get why they didn't figure it our sooner, especially since he was with someone the casino knew was questionable. Still would like to know how someone just figures out that some cards have a defect to exploit?

I don't think it would be too difficult to notice - if you're looking at cards so frequently and the back of one pack looks different to others you're going to be interested. How you know that a defected pack happens to be in the room of a high stakes Baccarat game is another question though...
