PHP, Google & Link Indexing programs

Greets,

I've seen many link indexing programs written in php (which I like because there a few good ones out there under GPL) but I saw on googles webmasters facts & fiction page that they don't index php pages.

I also recip. links to many sites using a php program. What i want to know is am I wasting my time reciping to php systems? :?:

Google indexes php pages without problems, as long as you keep your variables short and prefferably to one variable per url.

so:
www.yoursite.com/index.php?this=good
works fine, but
http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?th...&this=not_done

will probably not be indexed.

Dear Sir,
According to my experience. HTML pages do better in Google.
They indexed faster and higher.

I guess they feel more secured indexing HTML pages at this stage.

I've used PHP on my sites for about a year now and have seen no difference in google's ability to index them.

My most recent site www.gamblog.com which uses a method of rewriting query strings in the URL was indexed mid-month by google 2 days after the site went live.

I also have database driven sites that are fully indexed by google using standard query strings in the URL.

However, Breakfastman is probably correct about the number of queries in a URL hindering googlebot. 1 query will be indexed with no trouble at all, 2 variables will probably be ok, 3 or more and you're asking for trouble.

The best thing to do is learn how to rewrite queries to look like static URLs. The info is out there on the net, you just need to find it on google ;)
