That's really amazing that there is no causalities. Seems to me that another sequence of Final Destination can be made on this ... lollzz

Please don't cancel. This was a very freak accident and means that another one may not happen for a long time! Billions of folks fly without incident.

I'm not afraid to fly, but this is nerve racking as I did see it unfold on tv 15 minutes after it happened, but it won't stop my London trip in less than two weeks.

When it's your time then it's your time no matter where you are so don't let fear steal your joy.

Thanks for the advice, i hear what you are saying.

Thing is though, its not the flying that i am afraid of, neither is it the dying, although i would prefer to live a good many years yet!

The bit i dont like is the idea that i am going to know for 2 minutes or so that i am about to get splattered and being unable to do anything but wait for this to happen.

Apparently this occurred because a whole flock of birds flew into the engine as it was taking off.. so it would have only been a couple of seconds falling.

Chalkie coming from someone who is absolutely petrified of flying for the exact same reason you are, I have to say that in this case I wouldn't cancel..

As GamTrak said, it was a freak accident, noone was hurt, and it most likely wont happen again for a long time.

I suppose the upside to this story is that they landed in water and not on land.. could have been much worse..

Apparently there was 1 aussie on board the plane who has told the breakfast radio station that i listen to on my way to work that as soon as she gets a new phone she will call in and talk about it.. Ill definitely be listening out for that..
