Planned GPWA Forum Service Disruption for Software Upgrade

Tomorrow morning, Tuesday April 30th, we plan to perform some software upgrades to the database server used to operate the GPWA forum. The upgrade process is expected to begin near 5am EST, and we expect it to be completed, even with some delays, within two hours. Our goal is to complete the upgrades within an hour of when they begin.

While the upgrade is in process there will be brief periods of time during which the GPWA forum will not function since several reboots of the forum database server will be required. Other parts of the GPWA website aside from the forum should operate normally.

So, if you use the forum during this time period, it is recommended that you copy any longer posts you write to your clipboard before saving them in the forum. That way you will have what you typed if a service disruption should occur when you attempt to save the post.

Oh great.....I hope you are giving Anthony the day off and not letting HIM do it....LOL

I hope nothing goes wrong or he will likely blame me and claim I clicked on a button or something.....LOL

The update is 100% a backend thing. We are updating some system software on the database server. For example, one of the changes being made is to replace the software we use detect and prevent virus infections.
