“Certainly, the concept of a private table for blackjack players is well-recognized in New Jersey at land-based casinos,” Playtech wrote in its petition. “The fact that it is offered in a live online setting does not create any unique regulatory issues that would bar its deployment outside of a land-based casino environment.”
According to the petition, which the DGE released at the request of The Press of Atlantic City, albeit with redactions, the table would not be visible in the regular game lobby online.
Rather, it “would be coordinated with the operator through the Playtech studio ahead of time for a specific player(s) at a specific time,” the petition states.
All of the usual regulatory requirements, including time limits, bet limits and responsible gambling protocols, would apply to this setting, the company said.
A link to the table would be provided to the player a few minutes before the game starts.
