Default Poker winner chases robbers, loses $4K

The Buzz wishes he had the stones that Thomas Gigliotti, a 74-year-old retired businessman from Florida, has.

Gigliotti was robbed when he and his wife returned to their home after a great night at the poker tables in Florida with about $4,000 in winnings. After being robbed at gunpoint, Gigliotti chased the robbers and rammed their vehicle into a guardrail before they escaped on foot.

"We believe that the victim's actions may have been helpful. However, we would not recommend that anyone try to put their own lives at risk for a property crime,'' said Plantation police spokesman Det. Robert Rettig.

What do you think? Would you chase after robbers who had stolen $4,000 at gunpoint from you?

I'm not sure if I would or not.

I am pretty sure if I was alone I would, but don't think I would jeopardize loved ones if they were with me.....

Well, a great night winning on poker, followed by your winnings being robbed makes me feel bad, after spending a lot of effort in winning the games. But on the lighter side, I would also not risk my life on following the robber and trying to retrieve the money, after all, the money comes from winnings in the casino. I'll just think that I come home just breaking even, and had just enjoyed the night playing poker (much better than thinking about a big loss). Just hope that it will backfire on the robber.

The crime was at gunpoint... so if push came to shove I wouldn't want a cap in my a$$. I bet if the cops do theikr job they can find the guy... a car is great evidence even if it is stolen.
