I wouldn't give you $5.10 for that domain, much less $510,000.

    PokerABC.XYZ is far from "premium"
    Same goes for CasinoABC.XYZ.

I realize you are new here, but making your first two posts pedaling trash domains and claiming them to be premium is not a good start.

Hmmm. So according to you, google ended up buying a trash domain and hosting their parent company on abc.xyz?

    Google did not buy googleabc.xyz
We are all bloodsucking ticks, hungry, devious
each one latched on to the ass of the previous
when the last and the first latch on it can be shown
ass-blood sucked by the first from the last is his own

I agree that the domain name itself is often inconsequential to ranking etc, and that there are many stigma's associated with many of the newer tld's.

I think that the xyz'z themselves are pretty crappy choices for most, and based on the stigma that surrounds many tld's the resistance to the trust factor is often harder to overcome.

As for Google choosing it? It doesn't matter what they choose for their parent company, they can make anything rank they want, and the majority of folks have little use to go to their parent site, and those that do are likely going to be following links or bookmarks.

Whether they (or any other company) uses those tld's for more internal corporate use and machines and domain controllers etc, there can be some simple logic behind using them.

Also, like choosing a ,net over a .com, I also think almost any site can be branded with the proper effort.

I agree with you that branding takes effort and does not come just by picking a newer TLD domain name. On the other hand, one cannot miss the fact that a domain name should sound logic the moment you hear/ read it. It should have easy/ instant recall too.

Google has clearly stated that they have picked ABC.XYZ as it signifies that they manage start-to-finish/ end-to end of the internet business. In short, they manage A to Z of internet business.

Similarly, PokerABC.XYZ signifies that you manage the A to Z of Poker business. A short domain name with high recall value. It has dual opportunities. It can be an Poker educational site teaching the ABCs of poker or, a site having A to Z Poker games. The choice is yours. Pick the domain and brand it using your effort

To me this means they picked that domain for a "branding" idea strictly and because they want to promote it in a certain manner with specific slogans etc...a decent way to pick a domain name for projects (more so then by keywords).

Who knows, maybe after a few years of their marketing of that name, folks may learn to accept more of the TLD's such as xyz.
