PokerStars, previously one of the many unlicensed online gaming operators conducting business in Colombia, announced on 17 July that it will no longer offer real-money poker in the country. This comes after such unlicensed operators were blocked last week by Colombia's regulator, Coljuegos.

Colombia became the first Latin American country to regulate online gambling. In June, Coljuegos issued the first license for the provision of iGaming services. Local operator Aquila Global Group and its sports betting website became the first to receive approval to operate in the South American country.
