PokerStars spoiling for a patent fight?
It looks like PokerStars, now that it owns Full Tilt and Rush Poker, is exploring the possibility of engaging in patent wars over "fast fold" poker. Full Tilt was the first online poker room to succeed commercially with fast fold poker (Full Tilt's variety was Rush Poker). But their patents are pending. If they can successfully pursue this strategy (GPWA Editor-in-chief Vin Narayanan maintains that this is the reason PokerStars bought FTP in the first place), it could dramatically reshape the online poker space. According to some estimates, 25% of all cash game hands dealt are fast fold hands.
